Of the more than 50 restaurants I’ve visited in the 3 years since moving to Phoenix, this was the worst experience thus far. On the plus side the service was quick and friendly, the tortilla chips were warm, crisp and not too salty, and the two salsas were tasty (the milder of the two was particularly flavorful). However, the rest of the meal was awful. A bowl of tortilla soup was nothing more than tortilla chips swimming in a tasteless broth with not one sliver of chicken or one kernel of corn one would expect from a traditional recipe. Machaca was also devoid of flavor. It tasted like shredded beef that had been put through a strainer. The accompanying rice and beans were tasteless. The flour tortillas were thin, greasy and equally flavorless with a texture I’ve never experienced before. The carne asada (served medium rare, as ordered) was also flavorless and tough. In a metro area filled with so many great choices for Mexican food, this place is definitely not one of them.

I've been going to Los Olivos Mexican Restaurant in Scottsdale since I was in high school going to Scottsdale High School. graduating class of 1976 we had open campus and could go to eat on our lunch hour before returning to school. the same family has owned this restaurant and still works in the restaurant. this is by far the best Mexican restaurant in the entire State of Arizona. they have never let me down they have a great bar with lime margaritas. I love their pulled beef tacos and their chimichangas are amazing. it tastes so authentic to me. you should really check this place out if you're visiting Scottsdale it's on 2nd Street near Scottsdale Road you'll see the logo in my photo. Last time I visited the portions of the food are getting smaller but they have not changed the menu price.Vegetarian options: You can get any of the Mexican dishes with just all vegetables you ask the serverDietary restrictions: There is no information on their menu for dietary restrictionsParking: Behind the Scottsdale center of the Arts there's a three level free parking garage and Los Olivos has its own parking lot behind the restaurant limited parkingKid-friendliness: Yes it's kid friendly it has a kids menu it has an American section of American food on the menu if the children don't want to eat Mexican they can have a hamburger it is separate from the barWheelchair accessibility: Wide sidewalk double doors open plenty of room for wheelchair accessibility

So disappointed in the food, or at least my dish. Fish tacos had 0 flavor, just cooked fish in a tortilla with cabbage. If there was sauce it had no flavor also. Salsa was good, guacamole was OK. Margarita was good.

Good Mexican food but with hidden charges. Chicken fajita was a large portion but not much was chicken. Only 2 tortillas were served with an extra charge for more. The same is true for extra chips ($3) !! Margherita is served in a relatively small glass.

Ok but WAY over priced. We got 2 meals, 1 appetizer & 1 beer and without tip our bill was $73. They charge extra for a few corn shells for the fajitas (I'm gluten free) and for a second basket of chips for our party of 4. Won't be going back.

This is my favorite restaurant of all time. No joke. This place is amazing, the people are great, the food is ridiculously good (especially the cheese crisps), and the ambience is great. 10/10 place!! I grew up going here as a kid but moved away 8 years ago. Whenever I come back and visit AZ I always make sure to stop by Los Olivos. Freakin love this place.

Food was not good here, plenty of other great places to eat in AZ. The food was deep fried (when we ordered non-deep fries fresh tacos and the guac was really oversalted. The service was absolutely terrible and it seemed like even though it wasn't busy during our visit our server could not wait to get rid of us. I came here once before for dinner and the service was acceptable but the food has been less than mediocreParking: Three free parking lots or garages within walking distance. The parking lot for this place is rarely full.

Had the fish tacos. The cabbage and Pico were watery. The rice had clumps, and the refried beans were overcooked and dry. $177 for 5 people later, and I feel like I have had better food at any taco truck. Parking can also be a nightmare.
