A gem of a bar to come to whether for the night or on a pit stop on the way into Old town Scottsdale. Friendly and decent service with a very large array of options for any type of drink you might like to have. Atmosphere is chilled and decor hip and fun - a great place overall!

I love coming to the oldest bar here in Arizona. The atmosphere is great. They always have a good band. The patio is so nice to be on and people watch. It's a fun place.I come and enjoy life with my husband at The Old Tavern.

My recent visit to Old Town Tavern in Scottsdale, Arizona, was unfortunately marred by an incredibly unpleasant encounter with the owner. I feel compelled to share my experience as a tourist who expected a warm welcome but instead received disrespect. I ordered a drink at the bar and proceeded to enjoy a solo moment at a small stand-up table near the patio, appreciating the one-man band prior to his break. I sat down and Despite the bar's busyness, there were no seating issues, and open tables were available. Also no available single seats at the bar. After merely 20 minutes, the owner abruptly approached me, rudely insisting I vacate my spot as he could seat paying customers. I explained that I had just purchased a drink, making me a paying customer, and questioned how much I needed to spend within legal limits to remain and not become publicly intoxicated. Instead of a reasonable conversation or a thank you for your business, he forcefully took my half-full drink, berated me with profanity, and physically ushered me out. This embarrassing incident unfolded in the midst of families and children, leaving bystanders puzzled and appalled. As a tourist, this was my first impression of Scottsdale, and it was far from positive. The owner's behavior was not only unprofessional but also created a scene that I found deeply distressing, leading to a panic attack. Reading other reviews, it's disheartening to find similar incidents from multiple patrons. I am surprised that the city or other business owners have not intervened, considering the impact on spending by both tourists and locals. This experience not only affected my willingness to spend money there but also with other local business. It also impacted the plans of three family members who were going to join me. One would expect a more concerted effort to address such concerns in the community. In my opinion, such behavior from the owner is unacceptable, and I hope this review serves as a cautionary note for potential patrons.

The bartender and bouncer acted absolutely trashed. The bartender was extremely creepy towards my friends and made unacceptable comments to us. The bouncer asked me for my ID when I got there (makes sense) then came back and asked again like an hour later. The bartender ignored me multiple times after telling me he'd come serve me. Seriously the worst experience ever.
