Under cooked lobster and over cooked filet, the simplest and easiest two entres on the menu and the kitchen screwed them up. Absolutely nothing special about the dishes. In this price range, you would think these dishes were crafted by a master chef. That was the most dissapointing aspect of my exeperience. Had the food been good, i would have overlooked everything else. The atmosphere is very clusterphobic, but some people may like it. The wooden chairs are also extremely uncomfortable for anything beyond a 30min dinner. The waiters are polite but not very attentive. Given how busy it was, I can understand that. But then again, when you are spending $150+ per person, you would want everything to be top notch. I only ate about 1/4th of the lobster and I figured I would take the rest home and maybe make an omlette out of the rest. I stepped out to get my wallet from the car and i guess my wife was distracted for a split second when the waitress came and took my plate away without asking if we were done or if we were taking the leftovers home.Honestly, there was nothing about this place that would have me consider going back there again.

Celebrating our Anniversary, my wife and I pick an establishment to dine at. We kind of go crazy because we want the full experience. This place was recommended by a coworker and friends of a family member. I also saw them on Senora Living.Had the following:Escargot, scallops, New England Clam chowder.Baked stuffed lobster, 10 oz of Alaskan king crab, scallops, and the beef WellingtonApps:Escargot was awesome, nice and buttery garlic...good of used a kiss of salt;scallops were seared great, cleaned well as I didn't experience any grit;clam chowder....a little loose but flavor was similar to what I've had back east and even made when in culinary school.Entre:Scallops. Good same as above but I feel the app was better. The dinner version includes mushrooms and not sure if that was the tipping point.Beef Wellington was great, meat cooked perfect. The raspberry sauce was beyond amazing. I didn't leave any behind.Baked stuffed lobster was great, stuffing was really good, but I think it need a kiss of salt.Alaskan King crab was out of this world. Great bite and flavor. Not overcooked....just amazing. The establishment was cozy, and ppl dressing up or down are welcomed. The only complaints I feel to share is the lighting is dim enough where it's difficult to read some of the menu or receipt and thankfully there is parking on the street.Photo added excluded the welly. The staff will crack and shell the majority of the crab for you. They will offer a taster of the turtle soup if you are curious about. Wife didn't like it b/c of the texture; I didn't mind it. The texture was kind of like a thick gravy and there was an undertone flavor I couldn't put my finger on. I wanna say juniper? But I don't know.Parking: No room in the lot? Go to the street, your about 250 ft to the front door.

A Phoenix classic. Food is great, though not superb. Service was friendly, but robotic. Great atmosphere in an old bunker! ??

We have dined here for years and always had a good experience. Tonight our nine-month old was a bit fussy so my wife and I were taking turns watching her outside so we could take shifts eating our dinner. The restaurant made my wife leave the baby’s diaper bag in the restaurant because they thought we were skipping our bill. Completely insulting. We won’t be back and I wouldn’t suggest coming here either if you have children.

Dining at the Salt Cellar Restaurant was an exceptional experience, particularly when it came to savoring their New York strip steak, which was cooked to perfection. From the moment I entered the establishment, I was enveloped in an ambiance that promised a memorable culinary journey. The service was impeccable, with attentive and knowledgeable staff ensuring every aspect of the meal was to our liking. The highlight, without a doubt, was the New York strip steak. The steak arrived on my table with a beautiful, seared crust, hinting at the flavorsome experience that awaited. Cutting into it revealed a succulent medium-rare center, radiating a warm, pink hue that is the hallmark of expertly cooked beef. Each bite melted in my mouth, delivering a symphony of rich, meaty flavors, perfectly balanced with a hint of smokiness. It was evident that the chef had mastered the art of cooking steak, paying meticulous attention to the cut's inherent qualities and enhancing them through skillful preparation. What set the meal apart was not just the quality of the ingredients, which were clearly top-notch, but also the execution. The steak was paired with complementary sides that elevated the dish, making each forkful a delightful experience. The Salt Cellar Restaurant's commitment to culinary excellence was evident in every detail, from the selection of the steak to its preparation and presentation. In conclusion, my visit to the Salt Cellar Restaurant was nothing short of spectacular, with the New York strip steak standing out as a testament to the kitchen's prowess. It's a must-visit for anyone who appreciates fine dining and expertly cooked steaks. The Salt Cellar has certainly set a high bar for gastronomic excellence.

No handicap access. Entire restaurant is downstairs ( below ground) and so is dark and uninviting. Food was expensive and just okay, except for salad, which was fresh and served with delicious homemade dressing. Service was poor, and either waitress could not hear us as place was very noisy or she just didn't remember or care.
