Took the wife out for breakfast before heading to an Open House. Great patio, entrance, and ambiance. Plenty of tables open on a Sunday @930am. We sat ourselves and noticed there were no servers coming around. You have to use the QR code on the table to order your food. This was fine and worked really well and was easy to understand. However, ordering food led you down a rabbit hole of "add on's" which quickly jumped the price. ($5 for 2 pieces of bacon) We ordered two coffees and avocado toast and chilaquiles which was $60, not a great price point at all. Plus they ask for a tip, for what? I sat myself and I ordered my own food. There is no way to reward service when you haven't had any. Plus you have to pay before your food comes so I would advise against it and tip with cash if you have it.The coffee and food were good, just not for the price.

Should have read other reviews prior to choosing this establishment. Cute garden drew me in, went early in the morning to get some work done. Chose a small table in the back area. Got asked to put away my laptop as the employee said they were getting busier… There were multiple unfilled tables around. Expensive food. Poor attempt at an overpriced latte. Unremarkable muffin. Not worth the visit.

Yesterday while getting work done on the front patio (where I normally work at), I was asked to move to the back patio. Even though I was ordering coffee/food and there were a number of open tables I was told I wasn't allowed to work in the front. I was there from 8-9am and not taking phones calls, just responding to emails on my laptop. I will not be returning to Schmooze.

A couple weeks ago I happened to literally walk by Schmooze. Coincidentally I needed to find a brunch spot for a last-minute Bridal Brunch. The second I walked by I knew it had to be Schmooze. The owner, Tony, has put a lot of work into developing the patio & it shows. I felt as if I had been transformed to a European patio. Schmooze does not take reservations but allowed us to use the back patio. It was perfect for our brunch. Plenty of space and private. Plus I loved that people individually ordered at the counter or via QR code so there was no awkwardness with splitting the bill.Now for the food. 10/10 recommend. I got the Egg BLT breakfast sandwich but requested the croissant. It was delicious. The croissant was perfectly flaky. Best one I've had West of the Atlantic. Others in the party ordered the Seared Salmon Salad, BBQ quesadilla, Mediterranean Omelette, and Chilaquiles. Everyone loved their food. This was my first time to Schmooze and I will definitely be back!!

Beautiful Cafe! When stepping through the gates it is like you have left the main drag and you are in a garden. The outside is a beautiful garden. Being able to have my dog sit with me as I enjoyed my coffee was great.The coffee and food was also great, so was the service.

Went to Schmooze today with my wife and two daughters for brunch. They have a very nice, scenic outdoor patio, but the service is pretty much automated (no wait staff)—yet they ask you for a 20 percent tip after you place your online order. Food is average at best with a very basic menu. With so many awesome breakfast/brunch places in Scottsdale, there will be no reason for us to return. If they didn’t have the nice patio, they would probably be out of business.
