Great place for appetizers with friends or dinner for two. After we enjoyed every appetizer on the menu (four big guys) I had the roasted chicken and it was perfectly cooked. Our out of town guest loved it. Very original with lots of atmosphere. A little crowded but that’s part of the charm. Highly recommended.

We were excited to eat here on our visit to Scottsdale but ultimately, we were a bit disappointed. The restaurant itself is beautiful - what we could see of it. It was VERY dark inside. Reading the menu was impossible without the flashlight from our phones and we could barely see the food on our plate. We ordered the chicken with a side of the beans and it was very average. Our local Mexican restaurant is better. And while I did enjoy my margarita, it was not worth $17. Our server was good. If we returned to the area, I'd consider returning but only for a patio table and we would def order different.

Our server did not like chicken, so she made negative comments about all the chicken dishes we asked about. The food was ok. Our appetizer was cold. Very small portions. The meat did have a good Smokey flavor. The restaurant was charming, but so dark! We were underwhelmed to say the least.
good fun place to eat and enjoy a cocktail. filet was a little tough and came on plate in 2 pcs. kale salad was excellent as was guacamole n chips. chicken was very good. service was great. fun place but its loud.
This was a very disappointing experience, you can tell The Mission is losing its edge. They handle dietary restrictions poorly. My 5 year old son, who is celiac, requested a quesadilla on corn tortillas and they refused to cook this for him. Not sure why the chef/line cook would refuse to cook this item which can be done easily. The pork tacos had no seasoning and were extremely fatty, nothing special. I have a dairy intolerance and my chicken tacos came out with cheese. They replaced it but I still feel like I ate dairy. Very disappointed and will not be returning any time soon.

We had a party of 8. Although the server did get us drinks and appetizers, they did not come back to order our food for 45 minutes, leaving the menus on the table. I had to go ask for our server to come back (they disappeared). When she did come back, I asked if they were short staffed. She said no, she could handle it. Restaurant was moderately busy when we got there but died out before our entrees were ordered. I've never been treated like this at the Mission. I was disappointed. Also, when the entries did come out some of them were cold and had to be returned back to the kitchen. I was shocked at the poor service, apologizing to my out-of-town family. I don't think they will be returning. I am a local and will think twice before returning again.

I had been here previously maybe 4 years ago and came back with friends. Sadly, the experience didn't live up to my recollection. Service was very slow on a medium busy evening on a Saturday evening. Our waiter was oddly snarky and condescending...the vibe was weirdly unfriendly. We truly tried to meet him only with friendliness so the treatment was pretty surprising. Drink orders were wrong (though, admittedly we'd requested mezcal instead of tequila for our margaritas). Entree items were delicious and felt special. Most other food items were of average taste but a bit forgetful. The overall value of our experience was ok. If it wasn't for the waiter, I'd say it had been good.

Food was great. Guacamole made tableside was delicious, and salsa was really good with a kick. Disappointed in the size of the tacos for the price. Get three tacos, but they are literally 3 inches in diameter! Wife had the mahi mahi tacos that had huge pieces of fish; short rib tacos were good but had some grease. The small size makes them almost impossible to pick up like a taco. Please make the tortillas a little bigger so they can be picked up. Pumpkin bread pudding a must for desert.
