I was here this past weekend and the whole vibe was amazing but some of the current customers seemed a little too friendly and one dude just kept bugging me while I was trying to enjoy the live music. Also, when ordered food I got an appetizer but had to ask for it to come out first if possible. I got the shrimp burrito which was out of this world!

We just used The Wandering Donkey for our food truck event at our business in Scottsdale. They were so wonderful. They had amazing food, awesome communication and shifted when we needed help with plans changing. I used to have a gourmet ice cream truck in LA. These folks are pros!

My wife and I stopped in for a couple drinks and happy hour special menu. The bartender was extremely friendly and knowledgeable which was the saving grace to this visit. The Tito's special and Cadillac margarita were exceptional. The Cadillac margarita came with two beef street taco's "happy hour special", taco's were fresh and tasty. We ordered chips and salsa, quest dip as well as tri-tip sliders and another appetizer. We both found everything to be extremely salty. The salsa was very good but chips were extremely salty. Underlying flavors were good but too salty to enjoy. The venue and bar itself are beautiful inside and outside and looks like a perfect place to meet friends and family. Again, bartender and drinks were very good. Would suggest they work on reducing salt level for a more enjoyable overall experience.

I love going there for the music, live music chips and salsa and overall just fun atmosphere foods pretty good. We definitely want to go with friends and if you don't have any, you can meet some there.

Environment was nice and service was attentive, but lacked the usual buzz. It seems that food was so mediocre and lacked flavor and spice. I will stick with Jalapeño Inferno and not go back here. More exciting Mexican alternatives in town. I will say the cocktails are good!!

On our first night in Scottsdale, we drove 1 mile from our resort and found ourselves in The Wandering Donkey Taqueria and Tequila bar. Let me tell you about this 5 star restaurant. This place was Ah-mazing. We were there super early so it was pretty quiet. We sat at the bar which is absolutely, stunningly beautiful and was the creation of a local artist. They have killer drinks with my favorite being a toss up between the Ay- Chihuahua (a spicy margarita with just the right amount of heat) and the Chocolate Espresso martini (a great dessert drink). The food was delicious. We shared the Tostada stack with Carnitas and each got an ear of Elote Corn. That corn was.out of this world! I just know I will crave this corn when I go back to Ohio. The atmosphere was great and the staff were all super friendly, knowledgeable and fun to chat with. We really appreciated Beth coming to chat with us and giving us a little history of this awesome restaurant. If we lived closer, this would definitely be a once a week place for us. If you live in or around Scottsdale and haven't given this place a try yet, do it!

The ambiance looked like a pretty cool place. Visited on a Friday night. This place was dead. We sat outside which was nice. We had two margaritas which was pretty decent. The food was tasteless. This isn't a place to come eat but more of a bar joint. They need to stick to the basics for food opinions. Chips and dip and be done!

Very nice place a block from where I live. Good food and service. Very professionally run operation. I little boring on the social scene but that foes with the area. It is very clean and has the coolest bar top food was great.

Not a fan of an added 3.5% charge to use a credit card. Our routine happy hour tab in the hood is $100-120 without tip, and we drop another 30% for tip. Not going to drop that coin when surcharged.Words I never want to hear at an eating/drinking establishment... "we're out of that" ok, I'll have that then... "we're out of that too". Claims of being busy the prior eve are no excuse. You had all day to stock up and tap that new keg of Modelo Especial and Dos Amber.My dining partner/date, who normally salts her ketchup when eating french fries, took a bite of a couple chips and stopped due to being overly salty.Live music, open mic night, karaoke may be fun, but gimmicks. Eliminate the credit card surcharge, improve the food quality and value. (If you choose to tack on extra charge fee, please make it clearly known prior to using plastic).Also, never serve me tequila, neat, in a tulip glass! Pour it in a rocks glass please.During a major event week/weekend, with only a few customers while the neighboring places are packed, speaks volumes. Too many other good-energy places nearby to spend money at.Donkey management owes bartender Letice for the extra star rating.

This is my go-to Mexican spot. The food was absolutely excellent and authentic! Everything from the appetizers to the mains to the desserts were thoughtfully prepared and delicious. On top of that the service and ambiance were stellar. Staff is so friendly and attentive. The owners even came out and checked on our table, such sweet people! I would definitely recommend visiting the Wandering Donkey if you’re ever in Scottsdale!
