Why ask if this is your first time? Didn’t matter. We didn’t get menus, we had to ask. They dropped menus and extra sides with no explanation as to what they were. We had to ask how this worked and it was a rushed explanation. Food was actually decent but the experience ruined it. When I asked for check I was rudely told that he was busy and taking care of a large table and it would be a while. Would not recommend. Everyone needs some training on customer service for sure.

Terrible food quality. My husband and I were sick for a whole day after. The service was not the best. The staff was not friendly at all. By the time they came to bring us the food to cook we were already not interested in anything else. Waste of money and time! Waited 1.5 hours to get seated when they told us it was a 40 min wait. When we called to get on the wait list they said "no need"

Been going here for 2 years. Used to have 5 stars. Now it's below 1. The seating area where we were put had a lot of dead flies around it as well as live ones buzzing around our heads and on our food. The service was slow, poor and below acceptable. Took us 15 min once seated to get waters. We received meat before a grill was even put in. The meat was grey and the fried foods were cold in the middle. Will never go back to this once amazing spot.

I've been eating here since they opened in Az. Service and the food have changed since they have changed the menu. Went to the Chandler location and service was bad. So I went back to the Tempe location and it is now the same kind of service. GEN has lost a used to loyal customer. Time to look for somewhere new. I will not go back to Gen to eat no more.

Food is good, but honestly, it's Korean BBQ, assuming the quality of the food is good, you do the rest. But between the abysmal service and INSANELY loud music (they try way too hard to pretend to be a club), it's just a joke. You're better off going literally anywhere else.And if anyone was wondering, my last straw because it took me multiple disappointing experiences to realize how bad this place was, the final straw was me being told it would be an hour to get seated, to get called in almost 2 hours later, to then be told to wait for my table (... what???) then for them to forget about us once we were seated all while the music was so loud no one could hear and people were leaving mid dinner.

If I could rate 0 stars I would. Nobody seems to know how to get you seated. Got here a little before 8:00pm, went to the host stand where two people were checked people in, a young lady and man. We stand and line and got the man, where we are told it’d would be a 30-45 min wait and that we would get a text when the table was ready. No problem there are plenty of things to walk around and see while waiting. As we’re leaving we get a text about our table being held and that I’d be ready between 8:23-8:43 and to press 2 to confirm, which we did. So we walk around for a bit and come back to sit inside the building because we’re waiting on the text about the table being ready. At 8:50 we still hadn’t received anything so I go up to the host stand again, where now it’s just the lady, she tells me well I didn’t know you were still here because you didn’t come to me. Umm excuse me if we confirm is that no confirmation? She then asks for my name and states it’ll only be a few minutes and that we should be the next ones called. Okay great, we sit back down. However she proceeded to sit several other groups of people before us. I go up again and get the same question and told we’d be called shortly. Here it is 9:17pm and our name still hasn’t been called and all the workers are standing at the stand laughing, so we left. Not 2 mins later we receive a text about us being off the list. As a manager of a restaurant myself it’s wild that you think that would be okay. Just poor customer service all around. It is now 9:33 where we went to another such establish where we were sat not a min after walking in. I surely hope the young lady has the night she deserves.

This used to be my favorite restaurant! They completely changed the menu and the dishes and took all the good stuff off, changed the recipes and charged more for way less quality. Been my fav since 2018 and now I have to find a new restaurant. Its unfortunate.

Came to eat with some friends and I asked the manager to please not charge me as I was not hungry. He said it was policy to charge everyone at the table (eating or not). Def. Not the place to go! feel unwelcome and be forced to pay when you genuinely came for the company of friends.

I don't normally leave reviews for places and understanding the food industry, I always try to give the benefit of the doubt when dining out but I'm just over it. We've been coming here for a long time and the quality/some of the service has declined A TON. That being said, today just kind of pushed me to the point of never returning. We went to have the $21.99 lunch special and my partner mistakenly ordered something off the dinner menu. This is a newer menu item that came on when they changed their menu a couple months back so my partner just knows he liked it and ordered it. When this has happened before, the server always mentions that certain items aren't available on the lunch special and doesn't let us order it. I guess they have changed their policy and you can now order any menu item at anytime of day but they will up-charge you to the dinner price if you do that. That makes complete sense, but that has never been available before, we just weren't allowed to order off menu items. What is upsetting is that the server made no effort to inform us that ordering that menu item would come with the dinner price tag. If we'd known we wouldn't have ordered it. I really wish they would've been more transparent about the pricing and what we were ordering off of. Like I said, this has never been an option before and we come here a lot and were unaware of this change. I think the servers should mention that it will be an upgrade if they're going to allow you to order whatever. Our server was really unhelpful when we asked them about it after we paid and noticed the total seemed off. They gave us a kind of "oh well, that sucks" kind of reaction and wasn't understanding at all. Their response just put our last few visits into perspective and I'm just not willing to overlook all the issues this place has anymore. Quality of food and service has declined, changed menu items are sad/cheap replacements, portion sizes are wack, food is always being ran to wrong tables or not brought out at all so when your server remembers to check on you, you have to keep ordering the same thing hoping it'll come this time (and it was rang in bc it's on the receipt it just never makes it to you table), restrooms are disgusting, building doesn't seem maintained, just a bunch of things that I'm really sad to see because we used to really love this place and can't see ourselves spending the money we work hard for here anymore.

SAID NO WAIT ONLINE THERE WAS A WAIT GOT QUOTED 10IT WAS ALMOST A HOUR!!!!!! WHEN I SAT DOEN THEY TOLD ME THEY WERE OUT OF ALMOST EVERYTHING!!!! PLUS THE BATHROOM LITERALLY MADE ME WANT TO PUKE THERE WAS DIARRHEA EVERYWHERE plus the girl with glasses and bleached hair at the front seemed like she didn’t wait to be there or do anything
