It's a cliche of a diner. Mediocre as a standard. They were quick to order, serve, and bill. But not once did anyone ask how it was going.I read several comments how this place likes to close early. I walked in at 1:30. Just before my food came, they start mopping the floors. People still at the tables and the mop solution had a strong chemical sent. Couldn't wait just another hour or when the customers clear. What really killed it for me was the food. Ordered Diablo scramble, which was actually ok. But I had the hashbrowns. Omg, still sorta soggy and freezer burn aftertase. It says a lot about the place and ruined the meal.At this cost and just a slight upgrade in food, there's Dennys.

Back when I was a newly minted dad, I loved taking my kiddo to divey breakfast spots around the valley. One of those spots was Jim's Coney Island Cafe. The decor looked straight up 1970s film noir. Rows of oversized yellow vinyl booths. A quarter mile of countertop. A row of sturdy stools that could accommodate any size or shape butt that came through the door. The food was classic diner basic, the prices were reasonable, and the place was always nice and clean. It’s now 2024, my kid has kids of his own, and JCI is exactly as we left it all those years ago.Although pretentious food snobbies with ultra-delicate sensibilities and palates will likely steer clear of the place, the way I look at it is if you choose to spend 10 bucks for a plate of eggs at Jim’s, or peel off 40 bucks for the same plate of eggs in a fancier zip code, it’s all gonna come out in the same place in the end.For me, Jim's Coney Island is a place where me and my kid made a few memories, and where divey breakfast dreams are dreamt.

Quirky stuck in 70's diner. Amazing service and incredibly delicious home cooked breakfast. Chicken fried steak n eggs to die for. Reasonably priced is the added bonus. Skip Denny's and IHOP. Head to Jim'sWheelchair accessibility: Easy access

You get that nice feeling that you're in a diner and you're gonna have some thing that you don't normally get any place else. The food was excellent the biscuits and gravy were so soft and the gravy so smooth. If you are willing to wait to be served then it's worth it because they are so busy and the price is excellent.

We wanted to try a simple breakfast. Not a chain restaurant. Waffles was good. Bacon was nice and crisp. Denver omlete was decent. We would definitely visit again. Next time we are in town. The only thing is, no kid menu.

The food was OK, but the service was horrible. We had server number six and the lady took our order someone else delivered. The food never came back to refill. My coffee had to take my cup up to the counter and she was actually kind of nasty when I said, could I have a refill on my coffee someone else brought it out And then someone else brought the check. The lady never came back. This was my first time trying here. It wasn't very crowded. They did have plenty of servers. We just ended up clearly with the wrong one.

Such a cute hole in the wall spot. They have a lot of regulars and and really consistent food. Classic breakfast options like ihop/Denny's but it feels so much more relaxed, the older gentleman working the front is a sweetheart and always makes us feel welcome.

If you like old-timey diners for breakfast, this is it. Good food and prices, and never very crowded. Hours are limited to breakfast and lunch. The only thing I haven't liked are the biscuits and gravy.
