The last time we had Kyoto Bowl food was pre-COVID and at the Arcadia location. In the Arcadia Kyoto Bowl experience, the food was hot and fresh, the rice was moist and fluffy, and altogether their food was pretty tasty. NOT the case this time. We ordered from a Tempe Kyoto Bowl with delivery through Menufy and the delivery arrived within the promised 30 minutes. All good. When the 4 plastic containers of food arrived, some of the dish covers had come apart and a little food was spilled inside a torn paper bag (which was NOT stapled shut) and the paper bag was inside a SPROUTS plastic bag. What?! I know the restaurant stacks the containers high and puts them in a paper bag. Perhaps the bag fell over so the driver had to scramble to salvage it? eeeew! Why don't they use heavier paper bags or double bag? Why wasn't it stapled to secure the contents and placed inside a Kyoto Bowl plastic bag? My order was a spring roll, California rolls, and a vegetable rice bowl and my son's order was Yakisoba and California rolls. The temperature of the food was lukewarm--not even close to hot. The rice, in all cases, was somewhat dry as if it were older, not fresh. I thought it would be a nice treat not to have to cook on a beautiful Saturday but I am quite disappointed. These days, it's a big deal to pay $50 for a meal for two so I expected better quality and would not recommend Kyoto Bowl in Tempe.
