Aloha spirit meets mouthwatering flavors at this Hawaiian BBQ gem! Their food is pure aloha in every bite - juicy kalua pork, sticky ribs that fall off the bone, and a magical macaroni salad that somehow just gives you the idea that it could have been macaroni and cheese at some point, but in a good way. I am a first timer at Ono Hawaiian BBQ. I dined in and ordered the Hawaiian BBQ Chicken plate. I really enjoyed this. The chicken was hot, tender and moist, the BBQ sauce enhanced the chicken very well. There were some veggies underneath the chicken, a small spear or two of broccoli on the side and another leafy green. I am originally from Hawaii and thought that the price was worth the amount of food served. The food was quite good, but it was missing the subtle flavors that would have made it excellent. It likely may not matter to those who did not grow up with these dishes. I, however, will still return regularly, as it is close enough for my taste, for my fix of Hawaiian dishes ("local food" as Hawaiians call it).
