The Udupi Weeknd lunch buffet is a vegan Indian food dream come true. They have a wonderful spread of about 20ish items and all but three or four of them are vegan. Chickpea, lentil soup, breads, rice, Gobi Manchurian (spicy fried cauliflower), baby corn, breads and sweets. I have been in there or four times for the weekend buffet in the past year and I will certainly will be back again!

Have been here multiple times. Initially it was fine. But in my last 2 visits, I was really disappointed with the kind of service they have provided. Ordered the noodles and they were undercooked, bland and had no spices at all. When asked the server, she said that it’s for the kids. And no where in the menu are the noodles mentioned under kids section. Also, who would like their kid to eat undercooked noodles? Weird! Moreover, the quality of food in general was also not up to the mark. Plus, an extremely slow service where we had to constantly remind them of our order for almost 45 minutes.

We went to Udupi (after many months) last Tue (Jun 27) for dinner. I’d have given an overall rating of 2, but the waitor was pleasant & patient; deserved credit.. The ambience was fine. But, the food is no where close to what it was like a year ago. I’ve been here many times with family in 2022. The Idly, Vada, Pongal, Uthappam & Sambar used to be very tasty. I bet the cook changed of late and the same items were quite horrible. The vada was hard, Pongal had rice & the lentils were not meshing, the Sambar was like hot water… No doubt there wasn’t much of crowd there… Whoever is managing the restaurant, kindly improve the quality of food!!!

Amazing vegan and vegetarian food! Servers are so friendly. Tea is the best! Highly cost effective!

Decent dosa & South Indian fix - there are very few places in the valley that can satisfy that. Buffet is pretty solid, some dishes are better than others. They do a few things well: Rasam, sambar, Manchurian, tomato chutney, dosa. But generally, it's a lot like your typical too greasy, too creamy Indian restaurants that you find.

Best southern Indian cuisine, I was happy to find this in the east, now that I'm on the west, it's a great treat. I love the gobi manchuran with gravy, masala dosa, etc. there flavors will liven up your palate.

It seems like itbhas gottennworse in the last 6.months when i was previously here. I would have rated it a 3 the last time and now a 1.5. Getting seated quickly has improved. Utensils are not washed properly and still look stained. Food was bland and tasteless. Wife liked pulav, Dosa was average, pongal was average. Vermicelli payasam was good. Nothing in the buffet was worth a second try! Hope it gets better as very few pure vegetarian south indian places in Phoenix area!

We came for the buffet on Saturday and the food was quite good. Some things I think could be improved: - label the food. We weren't sure what the buffet items were and I hate to waste by taking something I won't like. Four items were labeled but no others were. - food delivery - we learned that a dosa comes with the buffet but it arrived at our table after we had finished eating. - ambiance - there is none at all - it's a large room with tables. Would I come back? Probably yes because I really do enjoy this food.

Best Indian buffet! As a vegetarian this is the only Indian place I really enjoy! Everything is vegetarian or vegan and full of flavor. I’ve been here several times over the last few years and I’ve never been disappointed.

Excellent food representing South Indian cuisine and I understand they have a buffet on the weekend where you can fill up. It fills up fast for dinner so arrive early or expect to wait. I suggest the Dosai, can't go wrong there.

I've been to this place with my family on 4/18. I am the last but second customer to leave this place on that day. Though there were not that many customers on that day, our order was taken very late and served even late. Had to remind them about our order and the delay on their part as they were seen foucssing more on phone/carry our deliveries. Even after the delay and few reminders they messed up the order. Served my order to a different table to bring it back to us few mins later. One of our order was about no onion uthappa. Person serving the order served onion uthappa and blatantly lied that onion less uthappa. When pointed out about this that individual shows no concern at all for their mistake. At the end I checked out by cash payment. In exchange for $100, the cashier women mentioned about returning $17 as she was lacking on .54 cents. But she returned only $12. We realized that after leaving the place. I called the restaurant few times. During a phone call the cashier person mentioned about getting back to me and despite few phone calls no response about the mis-calculated amount. The food is not that great and they messed up my order. By mistake if you are paying them by cash, please double check how much the cashier is returning.
