Your Mama

Your mama had some of the Golden Girls visiting Tucson from out of state and decided that Boca was a great option for a taste of Tucson tacos. All of us old ladies were pretty disappointed, including me! I've been there multiple times and this was the worst, I was so embarrassed. We got there for our early, old lady dinner around 3:45pm and it was pretty dead due to St. Paddy's day (although it was not as dead as my ex-husband). Service was practically non-existent and everything took forever! We almost walked out of there after waiting forever for a server to even acknowledge our presence; once our server finally helped us, it was like we were putting him out just by being there and asking him to do his job. The food was not as good as it normally is either. It will be a long time before I sit down there to eat and I may never bring anyone there again. Sad because these used to be some of my favorite tacos in town.

Overall the experience was boring and lacked anything that would make a second trip possible. The food: we order the burrito and a carve asada taco. Time from seating to eating was about 45 minutes. I had to ask for the server to bring it to the table, otherwise I'm not sure it would have came. The food: was pretty bland and stuffed with too much cabbage. The meat was greasy and the pico was not flavorful. Salsas were supposed to be top of the line for this type of food experience, however they were also bland.Service matched the food.

Salsa flight was delicious and is different by the day. All the tacos at our table of four were fabulous. House made everything, including the tortillas. Our server Katie was perfect.

We were kept sitting nearly 90 minutes. No lighting for table. No heat. Food was cold. Two tacos without sides, chips, salsa and two margaritas cost about $50. No water for dog.

Management needs to look into their front of house staff arrangement!Menu also does not match what is online.Went here on Monday at 3:45pm. Although we were seated immediately, it took 15 minutes for someone to visit our table. That person said, "Your server will be right with you," and we waited longer for the server to arrive. During that time, only one other party was dining there, and another party came in. We witnessed the party stand there for 7 minutes ungreeted before they left. By 4:30, the staff became more attentive. If you are transitioning shifts or taking breaks during this hour, please reevaluate how you manage that transition.I've been dining at Boca since they were a small building on Speedway. The atmosphere looks fancier now, but the menu is harder to read because the font is too light for a dark restaurant.

I was thrilled to find Boca on 4th Street. We visited in the afternoon for a late lunch. Chef Maria was very hands on- greeting and taking care of customers. The atmosphere was friendly, the restaurant was clean and inviting with both indoor and outdoor seating. I thought the house margaritas were very good and the tacos creative. We enjoyed receiving the chips with a variety of salsas in a bag to take along with us if not finished.

We tried to eat there on Sunday, we ended up leaving. We walked in and most of the tables inside were dirty. Took a look outside and it looked the same. Most tables hadn't been bussed for a while. We asked for a table for 3 and waited a bit. Once we sat outside, they gave us water and never came back for our drink and food order. We ended up leaving pretty disappointed at the horrible service we continue to get here.

The food is delicious. They were once rated as the best tacos in Tucson which says a lot as this entire city is filled with Mexican food. Their tacos are exceptional and very filling. The service is a little off but it's downtown and they are always very busy with customers and making the food. Stop by here to get some amazing tacos.

I went with my pretty girl pre-Tucson Folk Festival. It was a Saturday morning, and Boca was closed until noon (only about a 15 minute wait. There are lots of great curio shops to peruse - it is 4th Ave after allWe got seated outside in a nice sunny spot. We placed our order, then went over to Boca's store to look around. There we were treated with Chef Maria working on a new recipe (which involved, I believe, lots of roasted peppers, so the whole place had this incredible aroma). Our food was waiting for us at our table. My lovely date ordered two salmon tacos, while I ordered 1 salmon taco and one grilled shrimp taco. The salmon is sushi grade, really delicious. All came on blue corn tortillas. We also ordered chips and salsa. The chips are made to order, and they bring you 5 different salsas. Super yummy all of it!If you are looking for great chef inspired Mexican food on 4th Ave, you have to try Boca! Oh, and the service was great too!Vegetarian options: Plenty of vegetarian options hereParking: So it can be a challenge finding parking on 4th Ave at times.Kid-friendliness: Lots of things to look at here, and the outdoor area is very pretty.Wheelchair accessibility: Good access.

Service was terrible, bartender was nice, but the young women working g had attitude's. It was terrible. The food was not anything good special. One salsa tasted like baby food. Would not recommend,

We’ve visited Boca multiple times per year over the past few years. I think i’ve been there for the last time as of 3pm today. Don’t get me wrong, the food is still good. The service on the other hand, was pathetic……even after the owner spoke to me in person.

Should chef Maria be punished for sitting us outside in the cold. Or is the restaurant a little greedy and did not put the concern of their patrons before profits? We absolutely adored each of our mini taco flavors and each of the four salsa flavors put on our table. Unfortunately, we were so cold. It was tough to enjoy them.

Amazing tacos! The salsa flight was so good, especially the Fresno chili crema. The chicken mole was so flavorful.

Food was great, waiting service was good reason I gave it only 3 stars is shortage of staff. Waiters tried their best but not enough of them on a busy day ( Sat afternoon 2pm) We waited 20 min once seating and another 25 min to get our food...but it was delicious. Only giving them an overall 3 star because of wait times. BTW-Chips and salsa are a must!
