“Moved to Tucson a year ago from the East coast. NY/NJ and though we love Tucson the food here just does not compare. We're always on the hunt for food that is even close to home. We have tried every Jamaican restaurant in town and they come close but never close enough. Desperate for some beef patties today on this Sunday afternoon we found cool runnings. Let me just say. They run hot 10/10 they must be driving that truck from the east coast 4 days a week i'm convinced.“

“We tried Janet and Ray's today for the first time and it was an amazing experience all around - starting with being greeted by the wonderful staff. There was upbeat music playing, which my children also really enjoyed. We had festival and plantains to start, which were both delicious - and I had the chicken and waffles, while my husband ordered the oxtail. Everything tasted fresh and flavorful. I loved the potato salad and the macaroni was delicious as well. While the food was delicious, as others have mentioned, the staff truly made the experiences unforgettable. The first woman who greeted us (I wish I would have got her name) makes you feel more like you're in her home as friends of the family then just random guest at a restaurant. We will definitely be returning.“

“I absolutely loved the food. The atmosphere was fine. The jerk chicken was a banger along with the rice and plantains. They had great hot sauces and a full bar. The service was pretty decent. The coconut shrimp was fantastic except that they only had ranch and ketchup as a dipping sauce which sucked. Look, so the overall vibe of the restaurant is great. You get to sample the Jamaican food and try many different stereotypical staples that are fantastic like the rice, jerk chicken, and plantains. This is a good restaurant.“

“Montego-licious! EVERY bite was savory, making my head swoon!(you know-when your eyes close, your eyes roll back and you try not to sound like a love locked teenager). I suggested Kingston Kitchen when asked where to take dignitaries! Knowing they've "eaten their way around the world", I wanted to make a great choice.... and I was DELIGHTED! The menu was filled with all the traditional choices and flavor profiles I've grown to love since travelling the Carribean! Olivia treated us as family & our dietary restrictions were easily accommodated. Extra points for THAT! The food was entirely off the chart YUMMY, the portions AMPLE, and the flavors.... OOOOOOOO the flavors! It was like Montego Bay was somehow now on Speedway Blvd. in Tucson, AZ! The prices=well in line, the food= great, the atmosphere calm and relaxed! Two of us even got go-boxes so we could relive the flavors later! The curry was flavorful without being too hot to eat, the coconut shrimp was fluffy and cooked to perfection, and the jerk chicken, well I may never get tired of jerk chicken! Rocky and Olivia as well as their servers were awesome! From the perfectly prepared meals to the Dark and Stormy cocktail... I left with a huge Jamaican smile in my belly!!Parking: There was ample parking available at the time we dined.“

“Cool bar shaped like a boat, and great views from the patio. If you’re there on a weekday 2-6pm you’ll have to ask for the happy hour menu I guess, because it wasn’t offered to my table nor did we get the hh price on the one item we ordered that I later saw was on special. Maybe our server was new. But I will go back bc the food is yummy.“
