We recently went into commoner where we pop in frequent often, we didn’t make a reservation and were turned away which is completely understandable for a Friday night! The manager came running out after us to our car and shared he made space for us and that we are absolutely welcome. It was a wonderful gesture and the service and food followed suit throughout the evening. We are grateful for the wonderful management and staff here and this experience solidified that this is our neighborhood spot and we will for sure continue to be regulars. The martini and burger are my favorite!

Delicious as always. Tempura shrimp was a hit this past Friday. Wife loves their fried chicken sandwich. Kids always enjoy their ~$7 grilled cheese (drink included). Upscale atmosphere, but still very comfortable.Parking: plenty of parking

Overall, my experience was quite good. Even though we were early for our reservations, we were able to immediately be seated. All the food came out quite timely, and there was a blip in our food before it arrived to our table, but our server immediately fixed the issue and offered a free drink. The lighting was a bit dim after sunset, so if that’s not your vibe, this may not be the place for you.The only small issue I had with the food was that I feel like the fried chicken sandwich could have used more aioli. There was a small circle in the center, but if there were more, it would have really elevated the flavor. Also, the aioli would have been a great dip for the fries. Other than that, all the food was delicious. Definitely recommend getting the goat cheese tart as a dessert.

Disappointing experience at Commoner last evening. Entrees of airline chicken and salmon were good, but took what seemed like forever to arrive from the kitchen. The Caesar salad we shared was pieces of lettuce sprinkled with cheese and NO Caesar dressing on it. Unacceptable. We tried to notify the waitress, but she was no where to be found. So we ate it as is. Our friends had a problem with a drink, and had to get up from the table to find anyone who could help. They had to get up again to find our waitress to ask a second time for butter for the bread. They found her at the reception area chatting with another employee. The manager came over to our table to apologize about the slow kitchen, and told us our entrees would be available in no more than 3 minutes (after a long wait), but the food did not arrive until about 10 minutes later. What a disappointing experience!

Chose for dinner. Honestly not our first choice. First table had view directly into kitchen. They were accommodating with a move. Noisy. Cafeteria feeling.. Difficult to have conversations. Lots of hard surfaces. Candles on table never lit. Server obviously overwhelmed as drinks, food were lengthy delivery. Food was good. Portions on the smaller side considering price.

While the menu isn't extensive, the food is always excellent and we always find something we really like. The service is always great too. Our server last night was very friendly, professional, and responsive. We definitely recommend Commoner & Company.

We are from out of town but eat at the Commoner while we are in town about every 3months. Our meal last night was outstanding. Even some of the items we have had before such as the meat loaf was elevated in its taste snd presentation!

They had special Valentine's Day Menu for $65 per person and I assumed they will have the food shown on Google Maps images but they didn't.The crab appetizer were breaded deep-fried crab. The Tart was more of a dessert than an appetizer but was delicious. The salmon was delicious but the sides were bland. The Pasta was bland but those Blackened Shimp were amazing. The cheese cake was ok. The chocolate covered strawberries were good and the filling was good. The chocolate the used to over the cheese cake was not good nor was the crust. Not that they were bad tasting but the flavor/texture did not pair with the cheese cake filling.Overall I was disappointed for the money I spent. We do plan to came back at another time to try thier normal dishes.

Artichoke dip lacked flavor, came out room temp. The way the server described the oxtail pasta was WAY off compared to what it actually was. He described it as being tender, but it was nothing but fatty chewy pieces. Bite after bite. Let alone there were only 3 small chunks....The beef bolognese was overly salty. Honestly the food was a disappointment.

Was excited to come here, but was disappointed that it was never relayed anywhere that there would be a prefixed menu. I had to send back my steak twice to be cooked more because it was almost raw when received. Nor was I asked how I'd like it cooked. Our server was not the best and only came around a few times. Overall disappointed in our Valentine's Day dinner.

Food was good, but dining experience less than stellar. Reserved weeks in advance for a Valentine dinner. Arrived at an early time, 5:30, and were promptly seated in a back overflow room with white walls and cold temps. We were the only ones there. I went to the hostess to ask if we could be moved, as we saw open tables. She said those were "reserved" but shortly after our request was denied, other diners who were put in that lifeless room also requested to be moved - and were! I was fuming. At that point our food was arriving so decided to just put up with it until we finished. Asked to speak with a manager who was dismayed to hear of our experience and was apologetic. He made a slight accommodation to our bill, but the thing that really got me was the disparity of service. If you're not going to move anyone, then don't! But don't move two other couples who, like us, felt like they were in isolation. It really ruined the Valentine dining experience and, needless to say, we won't hurry back there!

Outstanding mussels, fries, burger and beet salad. Delicious cocktails. Super value, especially at happy hour. Friendly, attentive, knowledgeable service. Small quibble: Bread should never be served cold; it should always be warm. Nevertheless, we will return — and we'll recommend to others!
