Food was good and our service was great. The problem came with the bill. Why is there a separate tip line for kitchen staff? I do sincerely hope it is genuinely gratuity and not an excuse for the owners to underpay their kitchen staff because they make tips.

I had a terrible experience at the "Crying Onion" restaurant. Despite being initially greeted after a 5-minute wait and instructed to seat ourselves, we were neglected in the back left corner for 40 minutes without even being offered water, while others around us were served promptly. I couldn't determine if the poor service was due to us being a gay married couple with our teenage son or if it was just an off day for the restaurant. My wife, who is usually very patient, was thoroughly disappointed. We left the restaurant and dined at Tio Ben's next door, where we spent $100 and had a much more satisfying experience. I recommend taking your business elsewhere or trying Jerry Bob's for better service.

I've liked this place for years but it's on the opposite side of town, so it's not often visited.I'm rather disappointed that the quality has fallen. My beautiful bride had the Cinnimon Roll French Toast and a side of sausage. In her words, it "was alright but tasted like it was made from stale bread." HMMMI had a "medium or less" hamburger patty w/ 2 eggs, toast, and hash browns. To be honest, I never knew one could make ground beef so tough, dry, and tasteless. I nominated it for a replacement for a truck tire, but I wasn't sure I could drill it for the lug nuts. The eggs were mostly done okay, as I prefer the yolks well cooked. However, the potatoes could have taken a rightful place as an OPEC member with it's wealth of oil intact.I hope this was an anomaly and not a trend. Small mom and pop restaurants are our joy to visit and there are too few of them. But when the quality goes, so does the customers, which is a bad omen for the future of the store.

Great food at a reasonable price. People here are friendly and the place is clean. Next time I'm in Tucson, I'll be sure to return.

In last bite of my food found a long curly hair! ? Gross!
I was expecting better breakfast. Eggs over cooked. Hash browns were as hard as a brick and oily. Bacon tasted funny. I don’t recommend but in all fairness, I was a chef for 40 years and some people love this place.

Quiet little place. Surprisingly good food and great specials. You must try the pancakes!

It's a great spot for breakfast. Their pancakes are something I crave on occasion. Staff is regular and it's nice to see familiar faces. The breakfast spot always hits the spot.

We LOVE the Crying Onion Cafe for breakfast. Their buttermilk pancakes, and their sweet potato pancakes are to die for. So yummy. Crisp around the edges and paper thin.... The fried potatoes with onions and peppers added are divine. It's definitely a hole in the wall and not much for ambience, but service is fast and friendly and the food is reliably yummy.

Food good, service great, coffee price $6.50! Ridiculous! More than my biscuit and gravy that was $5.00. I will not be back. To compare, Baja Cafe coffee is $3.00 cup.
