I haven't eaten here in years. Friend and I went there after the Gem Show for a late lunch. The place hasn't changed. And it was super busy with all the U of A students and Gem Show shoppers. I was surprised when we were seated immediately. Within two minutes, we had a server asking for our drink orders. Then chips and salsa showed up following our drinks. Quick service! Original and traditional place its been a signature place when visiting Tucson for almost 100 years. Ask for Jose and order a crust cheese crisp / mexican pizza with shredded beef and chorizo wont regret it.

We were just in Tucson for the Gem and Mineral show and to visit with our Son-in-law’s family. Turns out they have direct ties to this restaurant (Ortiz family) so, this was our first stop the day we arrived in town. Absolutely the most authentic Mexican food you’ll find. Everything from the margaritas to our various dishes were excellent!
