They were out of spam, so I got the Kahlua pork, the picture in question is the total amount they gave me 2 Oz's, maybe, I drowned it in teriyaki sauce to try and give it some flavor, but no use, it was overpriced, and poorly put together, if you want Hawaiian food you're better off just googling a recipe than going here, this is the second time I went because I believe everyone deserves a second chance, but it was the second time they were out of spam musubi, I should've turned around when they told me that. For a Hawaiian restaurant to run out of spam is a bad sign, the Mac salad tasted like plain mayo, but the rice was well cooked, this feels about as Hawaiian as Hawaiian t-shirt day at the office, no Hawaiian sun, no musubi.

Wonderful food. Fantastic service.

Great selection and service with a deeper menu than expected. Two main dishes and two sides, it was all good. Not a fancy place but if you have been in Hawaii you know they focus on food not decor.

Poor customer service?????? not sure why the Pink/purple haired lady is still working here. Not the right person for the Job. First time trying Mama's in their branch in 1st/Roger. Me and my brother was so excited that time, but as soon as we walked in we didn't feel the vibes.. the lady with a pink/purple hair feels like she doesn't want to work there.. i feel bad for her since she looks miserable. The food is good tho, a little expensive for the quality they offer but who am I to complain since this is the only Hawaiian Bbq place in tucson that i know. (I hope OnO Hawaiian bbq will branch out here). We haven't came back for a long time since we really got turned off by the attitude of the cashier and vibes of place. Then one night we were craving for hawaiian bbq and we found out that the Roger/1st branch has closed down and we thought its the only branch left we were a little sad until we found this place. Today I walked in to order for to go and to my surprise the pink/purple hair lady is still working there I can't believe it! and of course she showed her very nice attitude(NOT!) and I swear i'm not coming back again. I'd rather cook it myself than to get a bad day dealing with this lady. ??????

Love this place!!! Me and my girl come here to eat once a week. We are spoiled and well taken care of by the staff. We are always greeted as soon as we walk through the door. I love how Tammy has a collection of pictures of regular customers and a little goodie bowl for the kids. The macaroni salad is absolutely delicious to me sling with the veggies and kalua pork that I love to drown in the Teriyaki sauce because it's that good.Kid-friendliness: Tammy makes sure the kids are welcomed and even gives them a treat.Parking: Lots of parking to the south of the building along with some parking on the west side as well.

Feeling a little nostalgic for the Islands and having passed Mama's Hawaiian Bar-B-Cue a few times decided to give them a try. What a disappointment. They did not satisfy my taste for local grinds! I had the chicken katsu and, although the chicken was cooked good the katsu sauce was nothing like I've ever tasted in my years of growing up in Hawaii. The rice was dry and not sticky at all and the mac salad was just ok. My wife got a spam musubi and it was more expensive than Hawaii and was microwaved so long that the plastic wrap melted to the musubi. However, as soon as she opened it up the rice simply crumbled and she had to eat it with a fork. Never have I seen such a disappointing musubi! Sorry guys but a major fail and not very representative of the Islands! This kama aina will not be returning, unfortunately.

Great food! 1st time there and ordered madibi, shrimp, Mama's Special & dang good gravy, shirt ribs, chicken katsu, rice rice rice, Mac salad, lemon bars and a to die for cheesecake frosted brownie. Mama runs a tight ship and it shows... great all the way around! They got a new #1 fan!

We are regulars at this place and it never disappoints but this time it did. I understand they were overwhelmed because they had several orders for dine in and take out but I rather wait a while instead of being served half burnt chicken. The quality has gone down especially at night. Paid $40 for almost 2 cups of rice and a few strips of chicken.

I ordered this via DoorDash and bit the extra cost of the delivery but was glad I did. Both my friend and I really enjoyed the meal.I got the Kalua pork which just melted in my mouth. Very, very good. The chicken katsu wasn't bad but after living in Japan for 10 years I'm a bit of a katsu snob. The side salad is a nice touch and the musubi was a nice little "dessert."I haven't been to the actual restaurant so I can't speak to the location and dining area, but I'll stop by the next time I'm looking for a bigger, hearty meal. Would recommend.

Tammy is so very friendly and accommodating. Her cook is the hidden star though. He made our meals fresh and they were absolutely delicious. Coconut shrimp were perfect...not too sweet perfect with the chili sauce. Loco moco was amazing. Perfectly seasoned meat and gravy. Can't wait to go back again next time we are in Tucson. Thank you Tammy and crew. Xox

My coworker ordered in Mamas one day for lunch and I absolutely fell in love. I've never had a spam musubi and now it's all I think about. We ended up getting it catered for Thanksgiving lunch at work and it was done well and everyone enjoyed the options. If you want to try a new place or even want Hawaiian it's a good place to stop.

This place is very cool and the staff have that chill, awesome personality. Very polite and friendly. My chicken salad was delicious, with plenty of toppings. It was a good, dinner portion size.
