I wasn't even sure what this establishment was all about; all I knew was the Thrifty ice cream sign peaked my curiosity (I love that ice cream!). This is another one of those places that sell a variety of different concoctions such as cueritos, chamaritos and the like! The staff was helpful as I ordered a 3-scoop cup of cherry amaretto, black cherry and blueberry cheesecake. Delish! I made sure to nurse it all the way home, even in this heat. I can only review one item here, as I only came here once during my recent 2 night stay in Yuma. However, it was so authentic, I felt it deserved a review. Their raspados is the real deal: ground up ice flavored with guava paste mixed in it. It was the perfect icy-cold treat to help soothe inflamed gums after having a deep cleaning earlier that extremely hot afternoon (119 degrees) in Los Algodones. That is not hyperbole.
