I have never written a review before but I had to write one for this restaurant because they almost killed me. I am allergic to cashews and I ordered the shai paneer dish. On the menu description of the item, cashews are not listed, I even asked the waitress 2-3 times if there are cashews in the shai paneer and she said no. I told her I am asking because I am allergic. She said said no. My husband again clarified I am allergic to cashews. My mom even told the waitress in Punjabi (the waitress was also Punjabi speaking) I am allergic to cashews and can not have any. She again said there are no cashews. I took my first bite and immediately felt sick. My husband called the waitress over and asked again are there cashews in this dish, my wife isn’t feeling good. She then said let me ask the chef. There in fact was cashews inside the dish. When I asked her why she didn’t tell us before she said she was confused. The owner comes and blames the waitress as she is new. The owner had no sympathy or care that I was having an allergic reaction. This is purely the owners and restaurant fault. Train your employees. First thing you should teach them is what Allergies mean.Chakra restaurant: Someone with severe allergies can die and it would all be your fault. This is not something to take lightly. Train your employees. And take accountability. Mistakes happen I get it but when your employees aren’t trained and don’t even know what allergies mean the fault will be yours. The restaurant was sooooo cold we had to ask for a portable heater. Even then we were all shivering.Based on my families review (because I only had the one bite) they said the food was not the best.Annddddd this restaurant had the nerve to charge us still for the shai paneer which was sent back after one bite.I would never go back here.

I think the food from Chakra is delicious but unfortunately too spicy for my family. Not really the restaurant's fault we are wimps for spicy but I guess for us, the search goes on.Ordered takeout and requested mild for everything and added a note that if possible, make things not spicy at all.In order from least spicy to most:Lamb korma - not spicyButter chicken - a bit spicy.Palak paneer - spicyEggplant Bhartha - too spicy. Hurts to eat it.The garlic naan was 1 big piece and I thought it would be bigger.

The manager rakhi was so rude and did not know how to talk. I saw the good reviews about the food but did not expect this type of customer service. Would never be coming back and also would never recommend this place to anyone. ( another thing to add is that one of my friend’s friend worked here got a while and they never paid her even tho she worked full shifts. That is so not acceptable and I suggested her to reach out to BC labour. If you cannot treat the employees well I don’t think i can expect good customer service from them.)

We were looking for an Indian restaurant for lunch recently whileshopping on Hastings st around Boundary. Read reviews of Chakra and came in. There was no hostess toreceive us so we took a table and sat ourselves down. Another 2 men walked in 10 min later, and they found their own table and the hostess don't come until 20 min laterWe ended up ordering Lamb Vindaloo, Chicken Methi, rice and garlic Naan, and a starter of Onion pakorasThe pakoras were nice and big size. The food, although spicy (it's hard to guage a restaurants version of spicy from an initial visit) was very tasty. All the dishes we ordered were good,Besides the slow service,( there was only one waitress manning the entire restaurant) it was a great experience with good food, and we will be back
