The cashier scanned my app barcode and he thought it worked but it never went through. Then he tried again; it didn't go through. It's been more than a week now and didn't show in my history at all. I just wish he would've told me I would appreciate it if he did, rather than just bypassing it, and pretend it did.Ordered strawberry. Not good at all. So watered down. Might as well drink water. 100% sugar too. Asked for no ice. Imagine it had ice too ..not much strawberry taste ..

Not bad go to spot when needed something sweetDietary restrictions: You might want to reduce the sugar level if you are worried about the sweetness of the drink

It was really delicious! The seasonal drinks are amazing! (We tried the Sakura white peach one). Their boba pearls were very good as well! We also tried the Peach fruit tea with mango popping pearls and it was really good, and the popping pearls were easy to bite and yummy. Very helpful staff!

It’s my birthday week so decided to treat myself to a bubble tea, I remember having them a lot as a kid and really loved them !!I order a regular sized strawberry slush with pearls and it came out to 7.25 ?Once my order was made it was such a small size !! and for 7.25 at that !!I seriously regretted this purchase and went back asking for a return and my money back, but of course no luck.Wasn’t impressed with the flavour as well, barely any strawberry flavour, pearls are good but wow that was disappointing.Never again.

I like their drinks here but unfortunately their service killed it for me and I no longer will go to this chatime.Incident #1: They had a lunar new year promo where if you buy ANY two drinks *literally stated on their poster*, you receive a lunar pocket. They refused to give me a pocket when I asked for one after buying a daily special drink (upsized to a large) and a large roasted milk tea - apparently because I ordered the promo drink (0.70 cents discount), it made me ineligible to get the lunar pocket. It clearly says on their promo poster if you buy ANY two drinks - so their staff is clearly just inventing their own rules and being cheap.Incident #2: I ordered an in store pick up order through the chatime app and I was expecting a lunar pocket to be given, but it wasn't. My husband was the one who grabbed the order for me and I was expecting the pocket to be given in the bag with the drinks (like at other locations such as Surrey King George). During incident #1, I asked for a lunar pocket for this pick up order and they were giving me a fuss saying that it's in store orders only for them to give the lunar pocket - again I checked their terms and conditions on the poster, nothing says in store pick up prohibits the lunar pocket from being given. Eventually the staff member just gave in and gave me the pocket, but said "ok this time I give it to you".These incidents happened a month ago but I have never experienced such snobby service at any other chatime. It's just a convenient location for being inside the mall. I contacted their customer service online regarding incident #1 and was mailed a lunar pocket which is an ok solution but had to go through all the fuss just for that. On top of that, their drinks have gone up in price like crazy... I spend almost $8 for one large drink which is pretty expensive. (Upsized to a large with coconut jelly topping $1 extra).

I thought unpaid training was illegal in Canada. Very enlightening to learn something new after the interview.

By far the worst bubble tea I’ve bag in a long time. I ordered a matcha milk with pearls/coconut jelly. The matcha tasted far too bitter, indicating there wasn’t enough milk/sugar. And the coconut jelly tasted slightly sour and rotten. The pearls itself wasn’t bad.

With the quiet closure of Atealier on Robson Street earlier this year (after barely 1.5 years of operation), I was in desperate need of a fruit and bubble tea replacement. I know such places are a dime a dozen around Metro Vancouver, but I’d grown quite fond of the “premium” tea beverages offered by Atealier; thus, I sought to find an establishment of similar quality. And that’s when it dawned on me: Atealier was simply a sub-brand of Chatime, so why not just go to Chatime? There’s bound to be many an affinity there for obvious reasons! As such, my partner and I made it a point to patronize Chatime during a recent shopping excursion @ Metrotown Mall. I should note, by way of background, that Chatime is a giant in the teahouse/bubble tea industry. Founded in 2005 in Taiwan, Chatime began its worldwide dominance and expansion in 2006. As of this writing, there are over 2,500 locations in 38 countries around the world. That’s crazy! But then, bubble tea, fruit tea and milk tea shops can – and do – amass a very loyal and large following; so, in the grand scheme of things, it’s not surprising to see Chatime expand as it has in less than twenty years! The Chatime at Metrotown is just a small takeout-only outlet, but it regularly commands fairly lengthy lines. The staff, though, is probably used to it because we didn’t have to wait long in line or for our beverage – the “Guava Lava,” which was part of Chatime’s limited “Tropical Trio Series.” Our drink was described as “a tropical guava green tea, topped with a butterfly pea tea with a dragon fruit kick.” As I said in my review of Atealier, I’m not going to pretend I understand all the subtleties of these teas. I will only acknowledge that the drink was pretty good! It was refreshing and cool on an unusually warm October day. The addition of brown sugar pearls proved to be a winner and worked surprisingly well with the sweeter fruit tea. FOOD: 4/5 SERVICE: 5/5 ATMOSPHERE: 3/5 (it’s a mall kiosk!) VALUE: 4/5 RECOMMENDATION: While I lament the departure of Atealier in downtown Vancouver, Chatime will easily fill the void. There are a wide variety of flavours I’d still like to try as time permits! Highly recommended! PS: If you found this review helpful in any way please consider hitting the "helpful" button!
