It had such a high rating that I had to check it out.Food I would have given you a 4.5 out of 5, but you were better than a 4, so 5 it is. It was the small plates that did it for me. It was the illusion of more food than there was. On the whole the food was excellent, a good choice of potatoes very good flavor. I had the Haddock one of my favorite good flavourful fish. Coleslaw was brilliant. That was a bang on taste. I enjoyed it.Had a pint to go with it. But I wasn't here for the beverages.Service great, she didn't come over and bug me all the time which I prefer, the once check up was fine.Did I enjoy it? Yes, so much so, I got another to go, too. I wanted to see how they reheated. The next day, heated them up and once again great. Maybe a bit of grease proof paper in there to stop the grease coming through the paper.Will I return you bet I will? It was worth the drive across the city, plus next time, I liked the look of the pies. I'm not a mushy pea fan even though I'm British. But curry sauce heck, yeah, sad to see there wasn't any.Thanks for a good meal.

I heard a lot of good things about the place and decided to try the AYCE special. Fries were okay, tartar sauce was standard, but the fish.... wasn't good. It was overly crispy with way too much batter, and some parts were borderline impossible to eat. It looked like they used a whole fish for the AYCE instead of a fillet, which didn't work well for this dish. Staff were polite and vibe was nice but probably wouldn't go back.

Such a friendly and bustling place I had the all you can eat and it was delicious and definitely worth the price. They give you free bread, bottomless sodas and even gave us free onion rings while we were waiting for a table. All in all I enjoyed the food and the great customer

all u can eat fish was old & hard + coating on the fish was thick like over cooked bread. What happened here, been coming here 4 over 30yrs. Haven't been bak for over 8yrs 2 eat this.
Decent but not amazing. Kind of a fast food/American style place. I would love a better option for the grilled fish or a better serving size for the price. The service is nice.

We love how you can choose how you want your fish cooked. Pan fried, half batter, etc. The fish always tastes so fresh. Get the onion rings - delicious!! Staff are always so friendly.
