I ordered their hainanese BBQ chicken rice, the rice and fried eggs tasted like soap or some cleaner! I approached the shop and they told me “oh we never put soap near the rice”, and that’s it.No apologies, nothing.I’m not accusing them of putting soap on the rice, but just a friendly reminder maybe there’s soap residue form washing? Nope just flat out no not possible.By the way, traditional hainanese chicken rice uses spiced fragrant rice, and you only used white rice.

I was wanting to try laksa and so my friend took me here. I would come here just for the roti!! Sooooo good!! I love Malaysian roti the best!!! But I did want some laksa and so I ordered the curry laksa with chicken as recommended by my friend. It did not disappoint! I liked the level of spice which was just enough for me to feel a kick but didn’t overwhelm my buds so I could taste the food. The broth was so good I was pretty much drinking it when I was done all the noodles and protein. lol. I would definitely come back here but the only set back for me is the distance as it’s not that close to me but a drive here would be worth it. The service was good they don’t converse much in dialogue but they were quick to remove any empty dishes or fill our cups with water.

The Singapore Laksa was a little weak, but still edible, and I ordered the Char Kway Teow very spicy and enjoyed it. It's great for a quick bite to eat when you miss Malaysian or Singaporean food. Cha Kway Teow

Mediocre curry ? beef brisket with rice. A bit too pricey at $14.50. Maybe reduce the price to $11.50 as I don't need the gai Lan or the soup ? I think people go here cuz it's the only option for Malay beef brisket curry

The chicken is flavorful and soft. It is also boneless and comes with a decent portion. The chicken is served cold. The rice for the chicken rice is a little bland and would taste better with the soy sauce on it. The soup for the chicken rice is a little sour. The chicken rice also comes with pickles instead of cucumbers which is weird. Overall, the chicken rice is still delicious. As for the bak ku teh, it comes with a bowl of rice and a bowl of herbal broth with pork. Since I did not have that, I would not comment on it. The store is located in Crystal Mall food court with lots of other stalls as well. Generally, the food court seems clean. The store also accepts credit cards among various other payment methods.

we had to try the laksa, as part of our ongoing laksa research in greater vancouver. we also had a side dish of roti with curry sauce. the roti was great, crispy, flavorful with nice sauce.the laksa broth was a bit weak, thin, and not spicy. two types of noodles a bit overcooked. generous portion of noodles though. not sure if I'll be coming back, i was not impressed.(located in 2d flr. of crystal mall food court, near Metro)

I ordered the nasi lemak (~$15) and was given one of those timing notification things. Waited around 10 minutes before it rang and the food came out hot. The coconut rice was the best part, warm and had a good amount of coconut flavour. The rest of the dish was not as good, with the fried chicken tasting too oily and had a flavour like Taiwanese popcorn chicken, and no sambal. Lots of options to choose from and would be good to try if you haven’t had Malaysian food before.

This is the place I always eat at when I visit Crystal Mall. Sometimes I get some to go after too.I usually get the Hainanese Chicken rice. The chicken is tender and easy to eat (it is deboned), the rice is flavourful and at a good temp, and the pickles are the ideal amount of sour n crunchy. All three sauces are good, I like the soy and chilli ones the most. It was also a pretty cheap meal for the amount of food served (under $15 after tax).Service is pretty good, it’s a food court so I’m not going to judge it that strictly. As for atmosphere… Again, it’s a food court and the food is more important.

The noodles portion is reasonable but the fish slices are so thin and the broth is only salty, no seafood taste.

Located in the crystal mall food court by metro town, we decided to give their noodle a try and we kind of liked the taste. Being not too familiar with Malaysian cuisine we didn’t know what to expect but we enjoyed our first time experience though we thought we would have more prawns in their prawn noodle soup. There were only 2.
