Looked back at the menu and my pasta was supposed to include scallops, but it didn't have any. Service was slow, food quality and portions were average. Maybe it was an off day but hard to justify returning after an average experience.

First time at this restaurant. I know the owners from many years ago and many restaurants ago. Wonderful people. Food was very good and the place was very full on a Saturday night in February. Service was a little slow but this is common in many restaurants now as there is a shortage of wait staff. We will be back.

It was our first visit to Portobello. The hostess was very welcoming and allowed us to choose our table. Our server was personable, professional and attentive. Food was served hot and was very good. The restaurant interior design made for a relaxed and enjoyable meal. We shall definitely return.

The food was authentic and fresh and delicious! Service was also very good - attentive and knowledgeable. Sauces and dressings were obviously homemade by Italian hands ( and/or sensibilities ).

We participated in the Dine Out Vancouver menu. The choices were great and everything was delicious. Portions were good. Very intimate setting. The service was good. Will definately be back.

Great place for some good homemade Italian food. The ambiance was wonderful and service was impeccable. It was nice to see the husband and wife owners there too: husband in kitchen ans chef and wife hosting and providing extra treats and showcasing her homemade desserts. We will definitely be going back again!

Service was great and totally enjoyed my meal , Food was nice and hot when they served us , Great experience overall , my only negative is is that everything comes out so quick that it would be nice to slow it down so you can enjoy the night out , seems a little eat , drink leave .

Everything was great. The only negative comment is that the Cioppino de Mare contained only scant amounts of fish. although there was plenty of shellfish. The service was excellent, the noise level was just right, allowing conversations to be heard, but still plenty of ambiance.
Food and ambience was good. These days, with the shortage of help, the service was quite slow to start as it appeared the server had too many tables to help. However as the meal progressed, service was fine. This is a nice restaurant and we were seated in a smaller area where the noise level was moderate. So all in all, a good experience.

We waited for a long time for our reservation. The hostess told us it would be a minute. Was approx 10, tables were empty. One couple had to pay at front because waiter ignored them. Food very overpriced, osso bucco was ok but sauce very thin and o my vegetables were 5 tiny carrots. Expect more veggies for that money. Waiter kept taking plates away while people still eating. Waiter never topped up wine.

It was a great surprise. Any kind of cooking is a hit or miss, we didn't know what kind of flavours to expect, we just wanted a tasty Italian. Our meals were overall very good and full of flavour except for one. I'm not sure if it was just cause it's their promotion dish which I ordered as a separate dish but it was a bit under seasoned compared to the rest of the meals we had. It was still a good experience and we enjoyed our dinner overall. The ambience was nice and the waiter was great. They came by to check on us and our meals a decent amount of times. We would come back for sure to try out other dishes as well as some of the same.

Went to Portabellos for our daughters birthday. The food was excellent! Between the 4 of us we had a good selection of the menu and found it all delicious. The atmosphere is nice as was the service. We will definitely be back.
