My husband and I like to support our local businesses, so we ordered take out from Preference Noodle House and our food was under cooked. It was not edible, so we went back to the restaurant to show them and they were very rude and unwilling to accept their mistake. I asked them if they could remake it and they denied my request rudely. Their food is not authentic Asian cuisine plus poor customer service. I do not recommend and will never order from them again.

Does this look like non-spicy beef noodle soup to you?The owner/cashier is arrogant and gave us an annoyed look, because my mom asked for some chili oil to go with our dishes...Glad she didn't tip for our take out order!

Been in the area for decades, but never bothered to visit these Chinese restaurants that seemed to go through owners rather quickly. We were in the area and thought we'd give it a try since you can't go wrong with noodles. We had the satay beef stir fry noodles and sour vegetable intestine noodles. The noodles seemed to be hand-stretched, kind of rare around these parts. My satay stir fry noodles had great seasoning, large in portion - a great start! Then the noodles seemed to smell REALLY doughy as I sampled the other noodle bowl that we ordered. The intestine sour vegetable noodles was in a deep red spicy broth that came with the noodles on the side for us to lower into the broth. I tore one of the noodle string and saw white semi-solid core inside. The noodles were not cooked throughout!!The satay beef stir fry noodles' doughy-ess was masked by the seasoning and the texture of other ingredients, but as I bit into more and noodles in each bite, I could taste the slight stiffness inside each strand of noodles. They were not cooked throughout either.I am not sure if this is a thing, but in my life thus far, these noodles stir-fried or in broth are meant to be cooked thoroughly to have a consistent texture, especially hand stretched ones.So in the end, despite the great taste of the satay beef stir fry, the raw noodle made our experience a mere "meh"..

Small authentic place , great food , not too slow cooking, no nights in a washroom after 5* so far)

Mildest Szechuan I've ever had. Mouth was not numbed! For some reason still doesn't have done in.

SOLID Chinese restaurant in Burnaby. A Burnaby hidden gem in my opinion.I have been coming back to this place for more than two years now. I love their hot and sour soup, their spicy dumplings and their cumin beef!2021 Update.Today I decided to try their XO Sauce Eggplant Beef dish and their Spicy Clam dish and was impressed again. Happy to try something new in their menu.

not that bad, but not as good as I expected. For someone who is not familiar, this sort of food is oily and spicy

Been twice to Preference Noodle House. Currently doing takeout only.Recent visit was on a Friday afternoon to try their lunch specials ($8.98)! Can’t beat that price; cheap, filling and tasty.Couple dishes I’ve tried so far:- Pork kidney & chili flakes on rice ($8.98) - excellent. Came with wood ear mushroom, bamboo shoots, green onion and garlic.- Curry beef on rice ($8.98) - came with potatoes, carrots and green peppers. Curry is misleading. You get a pile of potatoes (dry, slightly undercooked) and roughly half a dozen pieces of beef. Skip this lunch special.- Fried noodles with pork ($11.98) - noodles had a firm bite. Mix of vegetables, pork and even some lamb bits.- Deep fried tofu with spicy salt pepper ($12.98) - breading was light and delicate.Solid spot for Northern Chinese eats. If you’re near Bonsor or Metrotown, worth a visit.

AVOID AT ALL COST!!I’ll give this place a zero star if I could.1. The dishes taste horrible! I literally threw out my 50$ dishes to garbage after taking two bites. It tastes bitter with cheap materials.2. The owner is dishonest with extra charges without informing. Be very careful about what you order and what’s been charged. If you wish to tryout some dark cuisine, go ahead to this place and explore your avenue.

Was looking for a place that served beef noodle soup but also not too far from where I live and came across this gem. Very tasty, large portion at a very affordable price. Might have just found my new go to place.

I should have trusted my instincts. The restaurant was empty at 2pm on a weekday. Went in and asked if it was open. The old Asian guy with an attitude firmly states it was open. Ordered the beef noodle soup. There were 5 tiny chunks of beef brisket. They were chewy, lack flavor and very dry eventhough they were submerge in the spicy soup. The old man (most likely the owner) looks like Chairman Mao but with a bigger attitude. After bringing my noodle, I had to ask for chopsticks. He went on and had his staff meal. They eat without exchanging one word, but the whole time, I can here Mao eating, chewing and sucking loudly. After eating, he did not wash or wipe his disgusting hands and face, just returned to his little front counter and continue with his video.I paid the exact amount on the bill. He ask "no tip"? These China mainlanders never tip in China and probably never care to learn the concept of gratuity. Yet they open a crappy noodle stand in Burnaby, and without any service, smile and/or friendly attitude, expect a 15% tip on top of the menu price that he personally sets. In response to his "no tip", I was going to suggest he lick my butt first. But he was shameless and may agree. As paying customers, you don't need crap, literally and figuratively from this place.

Very good and flavorful Chinese food, would come again. Each dish was delicious. We tried a spicy seafood dish and the orange chicken. Yum. Be careful if you have allergies, my boyfriend has a mild reaction even though we told the restaurant his allergies before ordering.
