Miao's dry-pot chicken, stir-fried green beans, Yunnan-Guizhou flavor. Guiyang miao dry pot chicken, green beans, genuine Chinese dishes!

It felt good to eat here before. Recently, I feel that the quality has declined. I ate a cold dish - white meat with garlic paste - for lunch. After returning home, I had diarrhea 4-5 times in the afternoon. I suspect there is something wrong with the hygiene of the preparation.

To preface, anyone criticizing the waitresses or service have not eaten here and interacted with them. I think, honestly speaking, people who have a negative service experience just aren't sociable themselves and cannot have meaningful conversations. Additionally, anyone critiquing the food quality or its authenticity, do not understand that this is a Yunnan-specialized restaurant, not a Sichuan restaurant. I have seen plenty reviews below mine that cannot tell the difference, either visually or by taste. Also, there are some reviews that say that the orders get mixed up; those people are simply moronic. I have sat next to said individuals while eating here, and those people cannot differentiate between species or sub-species of vegetables and accuse the restaurant of serving something else (ex. reviewer "kevin gao").Probably most general reviewers don't care, but I do care about giving this place a good name that it deserves. I always eat dinner here on weekends with my family because the food is outstanding. If there is a criticism, I would say the prices are getting expensive, but we are dealing with record inflation in 2023-2024.Anyways, the depth of flavour is rich; you can really taste the different types of spices and their affect on your palate. The chefs are very skilled at what they do; exceeding the already high bar of good Chinese restaurants, by being able to cook a variety of dishes that are very difficult to cook. I'm not talking about the normal Western-catering restaurants, where they basically prepare glorified cafeteria "Chinese" food, that some readers might like (more power to you). Same goes for those newer mainland Chinese immigrant-catering restaurants that only specialize in one recipe, whereby the only variety is just garnish or seasoning (i.e., "McDonald's for the Chinese").But genuinely, if you haven't tried this restaurant, give it a fair chance. Finally, the waitresses are nice and kind, and put up with a lot in their already busy work lives, yet their quality of service has not dropped.

I tried many Sichuan joints and this is one of the best. The fried rice is absolutely amazing and a must-have here! Wasn’t too spicy but had a good kick to it. Service was friendly and didn’t have to wait long to get my order.

Food was authentic and aaamazing!! Fried rice and the cabbage are my personal favorites! The fried rice is the perfect balance of sour and spicy, but not too spicy. Paired with the cabbage... Yum couldn't stop eating..beef and fish are good too. Too much food for two people, really big portions!

Ordered two dishes to go, when I opened the box of ‘fried seasoned crisp duck‘, looked weird since the shape of the half duck not like from nature cuts, in really small pieces, also in different colours. Tasted like wax, and dry, definite not fresh. Did not figure out the first place. Now I found that the half duck should from leftovers, they put these leftover pieces together. Made it look like a half duck but not. Maybe the pieces were from other customers’ leftover or theirs. Could not think further of it since would lead to more disgusting.

This is a great spot for Sichuan cuisine. The boiled fish was excellent, and the spicy cold chicken is a must try. The service here is also excellent. The waitress was extremely nice and accommodating and gave some great suggestions for dishes to try. This no-frills restaurant is a must try if you’re in Burnaby

Poor food flavor, didn't provide the correct vege that we asked on menu and argued with various reasons. Very poor service.

Located in Crystal mall, otherwise known as the most hellish parkade on the face of the planet. This restaurant is one of my favourite places to eat, their most popular dishes are all spicy. Spicy string beans with red pepper and kung pow chicken, as well as their speciality. Twice cooked fish, which you will definitely want rice unless you are good with tongue burning. Definitely give it a try though, the staff are friendly and food comes fast.
