A Huge Letdown. Huge disappointment. Poor food quality. Our most recent experience at Tendon Kohaku was, regrettably, a significant letdown. My husband and I decided to leverage the promotional offer of upsizing our udon to XXL at no extra charge, in hopes of a generous portion to share as one of the ordered dishes. To our dismay, the serving was unexpectedly petite, sparking our curiosity about what the regular serving would have looked like. It definitely would not be enough for one individual at all. Interestingly, our friend who opted for the XL size appeared to receive a more bountiful portion, adding to our confusion and disappointment.Further diminishing our dining experience was the Ebi Tendon, which fell remarkably short of expectations. Presented with lukewarm and excessively mushy rice, the dish was off putting. Moreover, the overall temperature of the bowl failed to deliver the comforting warmth and freshness one anticipates in a well-prepared tendon bowl.Regrettably, the experience took a further nosedive when both of us began feeling extremely nauseous shortly after our meal. This wasn't the first time after eating here, that we've experienced feeling sick after. This unfortunate outcome has significantly impacted our view of the restaurant and our willingness to return.

The fried rice bowl, which is very common in Japan, has become a very expensive meal in Vancouver. The rice is not cooked well enough and is cold, which is a bit substandard~

Been here a few times since they opened. Somehow think the food are not as good as before. Good that they lowered the price a bit by allowing individual tendon bowl order (instead of combo like before). Find a way to bring the quality back, people will notice.

Good food. Tempura is tasty and not oily at all. Decent portions for the price.

The food was good! However, the free size up is a little underwhelming. The carbonara udon was creamy and tasty! I think this place is beautiful for a little photo opValentines Day seemed busy, I've seen two groups leave because they waited about 15-30 minutes for their order. We decided to wait it out.

I honestly liked tendon much more before their menu change. In my opinion, the new udon price is quite expensive even with the size upgrade—which doesn’t seem that much bigger. They used to have a 6 piece ebi udon for the same price as the new 1 piece ebi udon. I ordered the original tendon AND GOT FOOD POISONING. I can’t tell if it’s all the deep fried food or something was contaminated but my stomach did not feel good. However, it has a Nice atmosphere and good service. The menu isn’t that bad if you want to pay a few dollars more than what it used to be.
