The soup tastes really well, but the ingredients are not fresh at all.

I love it. So yummy! Same as I had in China. A little spicy with kind of milk smell, so so so nice. When I was in China, I had YGF at least three times a week. I am so happy I find it in Canada.

I ordered two spicy soups with two different spice levels (very spicy and medium spicy), but they switched it up and i was forced to eat the spicy one when I ordered medium spicy. I wasn't given any drinks, and now my throat is swollen and it has been burning the whole day. The pain is too much, and the staff are unfriendly. I will never revisit. I would like to give it 0 stars but I cannot. Horrible experience.

Last time when I visited here, I felt uncomfortable because of an unkind staff. However, today, a staff named Collin was super kind. Thank you!Food was delicious, too.

The soup is ok but price is not attractive. Service was not good and source containers were empty but no one cares.

The server is very friendly, shop is clean and fresh. Soup is not bad although I would prefer if the soup is thinker and more selection to add for the condiments. At end of the meal the server come with slices of watermelon which very nice surprise for us ?

Visited a similar restaurant nearby but this one had a better price. Food was alright, ingredients were enough to enjoy. The staffs were friendly and courteous

The taste is below average, and overpriced, cost $40. No wonder no other customers during lunch time

This bowl costs $40 and I didn’t get any meat other than that piece of spam. I used to think this place was not bad when it first opened, but now compared to its competitors, the food variety and quality are worse than the other malatang restaurants, the broth is very bland too, and you can’t choose the spice level. Zhangliang malatang just down the block is much better and cheaper.

There are not a lot of good 麻辣燙 (ma la tang) restaurants in Metro Vancouver so it was pretty exciting to have one, solely focused on it, open up in Burnaby. The soup is absolutely delicious (best of it's kind) - it's so flavorful that everything you select for it absorbs the savory taste easily. They also have a variety of ingredients to choose from but pro tip: don't think with on empty stomach! It didn't use to be like this but the only reason I'm not giving this restaurant 5 stars is because the service hasn't been the friendliest, but because you build your own bowl, you don't have to interact with them much.UPDATE: Recently, they changed their process in which you pay AFTER you finish eating instead of paying right after your bowl is weighed. It caused a huge confusion when paying for the bill and the guy accused us of not paying the right amount even though we handed them the weight receipts THEY gave us. Another worker had to apologize and clear things up. It was not a great experience.

A couple rude workers. Food is a little pricey, but worth the price!Edit: Went back a few more times and had a better experience.

Their signature spicy hot soup is so popular. When I got there at 7pm, the soup is already sold out and only left with tomato soup. However, the staffs still tried to make some signature hot soup for me. They're so nice! Very good service!

I've tried almost all of their meat & seafood balls , which all tasted pretty good and so does the soup. However, their service was just so so. They didn't even bother asking me the type of soup such as the level of spicy when I order the Ma la tang.

Good soup, not too spicy. When you walk in it's not clear there are veggies on the left in the other fridge. Doesn't make it the easiest to access but now I know for next time. Dine in and takeout. Cash or debit only

I love it! I don't have to go to Dowtown to enjoy it.
