What a cozy and friendly spot in Coquitlam to discover some Balkan/Eastern European eats! I would have not discovered this place without the lovely surprise dinner planned by one of my besties. If you haven't tried Balkan cuisine before Ethno Restaurant Vayat is worth a visit to immerse yourself in some authentic dishes! And if you are a meat lover even better! They have plenty of options and portions are generous! We ordered the Vayat Meat Platter + Chicken Schnitzel in Gorgonzola Sauce. The platter has an assortment of meat -about 5 different types of meat. Platter for 1 was plenty share for two people. And that sauce in the schnitzel was soo creamy and rich. Any leftover sauce is perfect for dipping your fries/bread and you won't be able to help stop scraping every last bit of it off your plate to enjoy!

Took my sister here for her birthday dinner and had a wonderful evening!The ambiance of the restaurant is fantastic. Cozy decor that makes you feel like you are dining in a friends home. We ordered the Vayat Platter and it was absolutely perfect. The service is warm and friendly and made us feel very welcome and well taken care of.I will definitely be returning this restaurant in the future for a date night or other special occasion.

We’ve been wanting to try this place for a while and can’t wait to try more on the menu + share this gem with family and friends. I was in love with this restaurant before I even got the menu, it's absolutely beautiful with Balkan decor and it felt like a museum. I had a great time just appreciating all of the different artifacts because I have never seen such a beautiful restaurant. Now for the food. It's absolutely amazing and you will be full after for sure since the portions are big. I loved the variety of meats and I have not one complaint. The service was amazing and the owner is super kind and cares about her customers. I highly recommend this restaurant, there isn't another one like it around.

Tried this place for the first time, on the platter (for single person) and goulash. Fantastic! The goulash was the best. Not salty, not bland, just perfect! Lots of tender meat. Pork? Mash potato was heavenly. Paired very well with the goulash. For the platter, the pork loin and skewer meat thing was dry. One of the sausages was spicy, did not like that. Menu should specify it's spicy? The cheese meat thing was great. Pork belly, yum!
