Stopped in when me and my boyfriend were in town to give this place a try since we are huge fish & chips fans. With out a doubt the service was amazing & the food was excellent. They messed up on my boyfriend order they made him regular fish tacos when he wanted salmon tacos — they corrected it immediately & got his food back out to him, and even let him have one of the regular fish tacos while he waited for his order to be brought out. This place is a 100/10 stars ⭐️ for me! We will defiantly be coming back. The waitress was amazing, the cook was amazing . This place is most def a gem ❤️☺️ thank you for the amazing experience & food!

I picked up my family pack deal at the restaurant I I ordered one fries one salad and ( paid the extra charge for yam fries ) . I get home to old cold fries that hit the garbage can and a box containing yam fries that I paid extra for which had about 6 yam fries in it . What a absolute waste of money . K was told it would be half hour before it was ready I got there in ten minutes and my order is sitting by the front counter cooling off . Never again I’ll go to a real fish and chip place !Dietary restrictions: My better half can’t have French fries so that’s why I paid extra for yam fries .

Came in on a Tuesday night and ended up ordering the special which was all you can eat red snapper. Told the server it was our first time there and she was very helpful with the menu. Apparently the snapper is fresh and they're known for it. It was really good. Came with two pieces and freshly made fries (out of potatoes, not frozen) Tartar sauce was good, if a bit sweet. Husband had the poutine alongside his and loved it. We each had one other piece of fish when the server came around. They weren't shy with asking if we needed anything else. I will say the two girls on staff were super organised and got people seated and drinks in record time. Very pleasant atmosphere like an old school chippy!

I had a great experience…. Ordered the Beef Dip and it was really good. Service was friendly and it was just an enjoyable experience. Also…. They have a seniors giving tree where seniors in the area post little notes with what they want for Christmas that you can grab and fulfill for them. Love this

We got here at 6:30 pm. Placed our order from a blond waitress who seemed to forget we were there. It was 7:25 when we got our order. I even asked how much longer will it take. Her answer was " it's just the 2 of us and we have many take out orders" I had to stop her in her tracks for a coffee refill for my husband. To top it, peowho came in after us got their food at the same time. Horrible place! I never got a refill of my pop, we never got told we're slammed. We would have gone elsewhere had we had been treated like customers. But we got treated like an inconvenience and just more work

I had been here before n food was great. So thought I’d try it again as a friend was visiting from Osoyoos. Well we were not impressed!!! We both had cod n chips with coleslaw. Cod was greasy n overdone fries were ok coleslaw dressing was watery with no flavour.

Had the Popcorn Shrimp, and a Chicken Burger with Iced Tea. All were made very well, the popcorn shrimp was really good. Others at the table had the Fish and chips and Seafood Platters. Everyone was happy with the meals, all with good flavours and cooked perfectly, the waiter was very attentive and friendly. There are lots of extra condiments for your meals available on the table.

A hidden gem! Very little advertising, doesn’t really stand out when you drive by, and stuck between 2 restaurants that everyone is familiar with…. Our go-to restaurant was closed, and we didn’t want the chain, so we googled restaurants nearby. Surprise - Jo Klassen’s popped up! It was mid-afternoon, so late for lunch but too early for dinner. We opted for handhelds that were big, delicious, very fresh, and enough to take home. So yummy! And I’ll support a small local business over a chain any day! We’ll definitely be back. We’ve also told our friends to make a visit next time they’re in Courtenay. You can’t beat friendly staff, great food, reasonable prices, healthy portions.

A warm local atmosphere before my ferry trip. Ordered the seafood plate which included two pieces of fish (I believe cod, and maybe a halibut?), fries, two battered fried oysters, shrimp and scallop. The fried portions were delicious, I really enjoyed the hearty large oysters especially. The handout fries were also a great addition. With the scallops I was left wanting more, perhaps an accompanying lemon green onion ceviche to compliment their organic salty flavor. Still great quality seafood and lovely front service who was attentive to our table and quick with our coffee refills. Will be back again when I'm in town.

On July 11, 2023, we ordered a takeout super family fish & chips meal with half of the fish fillets grilled without flour (due to gluten intolerance of a couple eaters). Super staff and a clean nice restaurant. We were offered ice water while we waited. Thanks so much for accommodating our dietary restriction. The meal was delicious! We’ll be back!Dietary restrictions: The chef grilled some fish fillets (without batter) to accommodate our gluten intolerance, much appreciated!
