It has been awhile since I visited 5 Bean by Earls. I was really disappointed. The interior was trash. Benches looked like they were eaten by rats. Paint on the counters and walls were all chipped and cheap looking and the floor was either really dirty or the tiles need a much needed update...the place looked like it was a second hand shop whistle stop. When I ordered, the lass took my money, returned the funds, then stood and played on her phone until I asked for the baking I ordered. Once I sat, she came and asked for another fiver to cover the costs she allegedly forgot to charge. Not coming back to this run-down outhouse again.

I’m on a long road-trip from Portland. We like our coffee there. This place has a nice vibe, coffee delicious and I’m obliviously a coffee snob?. Pastry was also very good. Bathrooms clean. Barista and cashier friendly. I overheard not from them that they let a Mom come in and let her toddler use the bathroom which I just think speaks if they’re good character.

Got a slice of banana loaf and found out after taking a bite that it was moldy. Called to let them know and went to voice-mail, never heard back. Will not be returning.

I met the owner Reeve In the bank today. After a conversation about basic life and work he offered me a coffee☕️. He pointed to the coffee shop and told me if I stopped in there the staff would make me a coffee, on Reeve. The ladies recommended a caramel macchiato so I trusted them and went with it! WOW, it is so so good! As Reeve and I discussed… I live off of coffee and expresso shots so this coffee was perfect for me… expresso shots, sweet, creamy and oh so delicious! Reeve, you are a wonderful human! Thank you for the chat and the coffee! To the amazing ladies working there thank you for your guidance and your extremely amazing personalities! The caramel macchiato is so amazing and will help me finish off my 48 hour work day with my eyes open ??
The batistas are always so nice (one even got the door for me on my way out) and today I got the best caramel macchiato of my life from here. Thanks for being wonderful ☕️

By far my favourite cafe ever ? I frequent the north shore location and I always have a wonderful conversation with any of the baristas working. They’re friendly, happy and they always brighten my mornings. The coffee and food is just as good!?
