Took the lady almost 30 minutes to take our order. Ordered a dish that didn't resemble the photo at all. Had to argue with the lady and chef that I didn't want it. Lady was rude and ignored us. Absolute garbage experience.

DONT ORDER IN 2024 WITHOUT CHECKING PRICES FIRSTOk so this 1 star rating is about 1 thing only....the 2024 change in prices across the entire menu. I just ate here for Xmas eve and was usual price ive seen or at least in the ball park since ive come here. I love the food. Zero complaint about the food but yesterday i felt like I was stuck in a Curb Your Enthusiasm episode. My dad came to visit and he loved it there before so we used the take home menu i grabbed a couple of mths ago to order. I called and they lady took our order. We even went a little bold and ordered the Full BBQ Duck for $36.98.So we go to pick up our 5 items and the bill came to $144 before tip. 2 appetizers and 3 mains: 1 wonton soup, 1 small portion of dry spare ribs, beef with broccoli, beef brisket hot pot and 1 full BBQ duck was the entire order for $144.....i looked down and the whole BBQ duck that was $36.98 2 mths ago is now $64.95...that is a 75% increase. I grab the take out menu and every item has a pen mark through it and their dine in menu has white out and marker across every item with insane new pricing. i ask her what's up and she said prices went up. The wonton soup went up 30%, the beef with broccoli went up nearly 60%. Beef brisket was a favorite and that went up between 40-50% from the old 2023 menu.I asked if we could get half the duck considering the half duck is now the price of the full duck and she said no because it was already cooked. Half duck before was $18.98 and new price is $32.98. Check my photos for the proof.Zero warning when i placed the order...she did not say the total over the phone and when i asked for a half duck to bring the bill down she also said no. Well No Tip For You!I am all about supporting local small family businesses but using inflation as an excuse to completely rip your customers off with zero warning is predatory at best.I am so disappointed in Da Tang for this unjust price gauge and they have unfortunately lost my business for good.Just such a shame.

If you like dinner served by a robot then check this place out. Have been several times but the quality of food has declined quite a bit. We won't be going back anytime soon.

Ordered the food almost 2 days in advance, food was over 2 hours late from the pickup time, don’t rely on this restaurant for timely service. Absolutely brutal.

Chicken balls greasy and some of the coating too hard to eat, Luke warm noodles and veggies, spring roll passable, no cookie. Prices went up, quality went down.I give up on Chinese food in Nanaimo. Absolutely have lost my taste for it and it was always my favorite treat. This place was my go to during covid but no more.
Having lived in Richmond for years and getting to know the chinese food in the mid island I went there late not expecting much quality. I was pleasantly surprised. Fresh food, authentic recipes in a very clean family run restaurant. From the dim sum to the ma po tofu, everything was cooked perfectly and w quality ingredients. Ill try the bbq duck next time.

Perhaps you should have your correct hours of business on your web site. We placed an order, received a confirmation of the order, the credit card was charged for the order but we NEVER received the order!!! IF YOU ARE CLOSED stop taking orders and update your webpage!!! We will NEVER do business here again!!!

I ordered from DoorDash-the wor wonton soup was inedible- pork tasted off and was rubbery. I had to throw it out. The beef in the beef and broccoli was very fatty and chewy. Just awful. I don’t usually leave negative reviews of local restaurants but this was just so bad.

Our first experience in the restaurant took one hour to receive our food, while others were continuously receiving dim sum. Food was only mediocre once we finally received it. Our second experience through SkipTheDishes had them give our order to the wrong driver. Terrible service, never going back.
