Food is good. Service can be better.I think the owner wants to cut on labour cost that is why there were only 2 girls working during the peak rush hour. The girls were trying their very best but it is hard when your restaurant is packed with dine in, take out and delivery orders. Our order for just 1 cheese dosa came out in about 35 min after placing the order. I see many comments on staff being rude not smiling etc and it can be true if there's only 2 servers working suring peak hours.

I visited Heritage Indian restaurant with my family, and I must say, it was a disappointing experience. The chicken tikka was hard, the main course lacked flavor, and the butter chicken was simply unbearable. The only saving grace were the vegetarian items. Overall, a regrettable dining experience.

We enjoyed a family lunch where we ordered chana battura and dosa. The sambar was outstanding, though the chana was slightly sweeter than expected, and the coconut chutney didn't quite meet our expectations. While the atmosphere was pleasant, we were unable to sit by the window as those seats were reserved for elderly patrons, despite the restaurant being nearly empty.

Food is good but service is 0 stars. We have been going here from past 3 years and staff was very friendly but now seems its new owner or at least all new staff who don’t even treat customers with a smile. You go to this place and it feels all staff members are really sad and unhappy to see an Indian origin person enter the store. Seen a few other tables with indian customers all treated very differently compared to others. While I understand that cultural biases and prejudices can exist in any establishment, it's disheartening to experience such blatant discrimination, especially in a place that prides itself on celebrating Indian cuisine and culture.I hope owner takes steps to address this issue and ensures that all customers, regardless of their ethnicity, are treated with the same level of respect and hospitality

We were here first time in nanaimo as well as heritage indian cusine. Taste was really good. Food was fresh and well cooked. highly recommended veggie dish plater which has 2 curries, rice , naan , salad and soft drink. Staff was quick and responsive. Akshita was very quick and fast server with great communication and fast service. Worth and value for money??

Ordered a Prawn Goan and a Kadai Chicken (both medium spice)Prawn Goan was bland and too mild to taste.Kadai Chicken had a good spice level but the chicken was overcooked and chewy.Portions were large which was nice (you should order 1 rice per person though) and the garlic naan was also good.

We were travelling and decided to have buffet lunch from this restaurant. The buffet was one of the most expensive indian buffets that we have had in the island. The items are very limited. Had no soups and dessert was just name sake. Very few food options and the trays were hardly replenished. The chicken items tasted odd and hard which made us doubt the date of preparation. The staff never came over asked us how satisfied we were or how the buffet was.
The food was delicious. We ordered the combo plate each, lots of food, excellent Naan bread. We'll be back.
