Great pastries, good coffee, unfortunately there is a fruit fly problem. It is impossible to eat here without getting several of them into your food. The staff let us exchange the soup for pastries to-go. I would recommend the food here, but not dining in.

This café is situated very close to the New Westminster skytrain station, so easy to get to. I come here a few times a month to get a pastry and a cup of vanilla latte. Their chocolate avalanche is my favorite and the latte very tasty! Always enjoyable to sit in this clean, quiet, and cozy cafe, and I usually spend 2 hours to enjoy my food and work on my sketchbook art. The owners and baristas are very friendly. I really recommend this place to grab a bite, relax, and work on your computer.

Washroom wasn’t available and the little cake was way too sweet. The face on the hot chocolate was a cute touch. Nice atmosphere.Update: I shouldn’t have to explain myself but the owner’s response was disrespectful so here it is: I tried to go to the washroom for what your staff stood right in front of it saying “it’s not available today”, no explanation. There was a sign saying “out of order” that had fallen on the ground so he put it back on the door. If your washroom is out of order please have the information available with a sign on the front door. By the time I tried to go I had already ordered.I asked for the staff recommendation for a treat as I do in many places I go, I have a sweet tooth but this one was pure sugar and wasn’t enjoyable at all.I know the area well and love and support the small businesses around, with great options of baked goods and always a washroom available.I’m lowering the review as this is not the right way to go about it. I like to post my experiences as constructive critics for the managers/owners to see what can improve, sometimes I observe certain things that can be a dealbreaker for future customers that might never return and never say why. Knowing how to respond to unpleasant experiences is the key here and in this case you turned my experience from ‘not so ok but I should try again’ to ‘I’m never returning and not recommending this spot’. This could’ve been a private email conversation with details but one was never made available to me for more comments. Wishing you all the best!

** Upgrading my review to 5 stars after a second visit! The staff and owner were incredibly welcoming, and it was great they were open on Family Day.This place has the best vegan carrot cake in Metro Vancouver. It’s really hard to find non-dairy carrot cake that isn’t dry, but these guys nailed it!
