The waitress with the glasses is great - she has served me a few times. If I was basing my review strictly on service and beer, it would be 5 stars.Unfortunately, I received some of the worst food ever (BBQ Chicken Flatbread). The flatbread did not appear to be warmed up, it was DRENCHED in BBQ sauce (and this is coming from someone who likes more sauce than less), there was no cilantro that I could see, and there was barely any onion or cheese. If I could give it 0 stars, I would. I know this sounds harsh, but it's even more harsh to charge someone $18.50 for this.As mentioned, the service is great, so this is a place I would like to come back to, but the food was so bad that I'm not sure if I want to return (even if I only come for drinks).

There are better places to grab a drink and some food on Columbia St in New West. I’ve seen rats on the patio while I’m eating, going in and out of the building. Not the friendliest or most welcoming place for queer people, unless you’re looking to be lectured about Jesus. Wait staff is fantastic! Instead of smoking ciggies and drinking his own supply, the Owner needs to step it up and put some work into this place. I would rather go somewhere else on Columbia where me and my friends feel safe, rather than being worried I might get jumped at Begbies.

If you have a disability don’t come here. They will immediately say that you are too intoxicated to be served despite you being completely sober. They didn’t care to listen to my explanation that I take medication that makes me less alert than normal. I even offered to show them the medication bottle I had on me. Completely discriminatory establishment.

Seems like a decent little bar. Maybe we came on an off night but we sat in a booth for 5 minutes with nobody asking for an order. No sign of anyone at the bar so we ended up leaving for another place.

I had to get my own cutlery.I only ordered nachos.I asked for the half of the nachos to be packed up..The waitress, tossed them out.I was there to support my guitar friend, Addy, while he played 2 sets of music, 2 weeks ago..Open night on a Monday.I had to ask the waitress for hot coffee for him.. She wasn't impressed.. Hire a waitress who cares about serving, or I wont come back. Nachos were $18.Beer was $6.
