“A number of years ago I ate at the new Ricky's in Parksville and vowed never to return. It was without a doubt one of the worst and most disappointing dining experiences in memory. Invited by two new friends with the knowledge that the restaurant was now a totally new ownership I went back with my lovely gal with an open mind. For me, one indicator of enjoying a restaurant is the fact that we were in no hurry to leave, and our extremely tasteful meal was a two hour experience. Both of us tried the roast turkey dinner and we couldn't made a better choice as it's not something we typically cook other than during festive occasions it was absolutely fantastic and I will order that every time I go there. Our waitress, Ashley was an absolute gem of a gal totally deserving of these accolades. You can tell she enjoys her job by the way she engaged with us, and her attentiveness and genuine care for her customers is an obvious positive trait not only have we now added Rick's to our shortlist of restaurants that we frequent, we will be recommending it to friends and family who want a wonderful night out.“
“We dined here on a weeknight with no reservation, which surprisingly, we were able to get in right away. We had a wonderful server by the name of "Joanne". She was anticipating our next move and helped to get the kids their food first and fast. We were impressed by her engaging personality and prompt service. The food was great, service was top notch and the atmosphere was nice. ( Best service we have had in a while)“

“Lefty's Parksville located in a busy strip mall next to a thrifty supermarket. This restaurant is quite busy. The decor is industrial style. The choices are one step over sport bar type of place. The staff is somewhat friendly and the service is quick. The host was great but the server was a bit rude. I guess they were hoping we were ordering lots to drink as they were disappointed when we ordered just water. The food, portions are pretty good. I ordered the Hipster sandwich which was pretty good. The fries also pretty good. Overall decent place“
“Just moved from the mainland and our first walk around the quaint town of Qualicum Beach. Stopped in at Gary’s Bistro and shared the two piece fish and chips with hubby. It was so good! And definitely enough for two people. Definitely recommend this restaurant if you are in the area.“
“First time there tonight July 1-2023to celebrate birthdays. Alley the owner was so gracious and had the best personality!! The food was absolutely delicious! We started with crab cakes they were so good! Then I had the seafood pasta the amount of scallops prawns was awesome they definitely weren't skimpy on the seafood and the presentation was great! Then the dessert we had a free birthday dessert which was the sticky date pudding with vanilla ice cream! The service was good, friendly, fast and the establishment was clean! Highly recommend this place ❤️“
