I’ve had take out from Iyara many times but this was my first time dining in. I loved the atmosphere; very private and quiet which was ideal for conversation. The service was perfect with a very warm attitude but no hovering or unnecessary disruption and all of our dishes were quality checked. I loved the attention to detail of presentation in the matching dish-ware and the Thai music was an appreciated touch that added to the ambiance without distracting from conversation. I had the Thai iced tea which I believe is made with sweetened condensed milk and I loved it. No, this is not the food you get in Thailand but I personally appreciated the option to have more mild spice level and will definitely be back!

So terrible ! Not sure why my picture won’t upload …No flavour in these noodles. And chicken was tough. Super disappointed in the server not at least making it better for me ( either by discount or bringing me a different dish or fixing it !)

Was great as always had the chicken curry fried rice mmmmm but will say their Green Curry is awesome !
Very disappointing food. Blunt, no finesse. I didn't find the perfumes and the subtleties of the Thai cuisine. Just stomach filling. On top of this, they charge me for the extra satay sauce I requested.

In a relatively small town like Pen, it’s not easy to find good authentic Thai food cooked and served by Thais. I give my two thumbs up if not more for Iyara. This is coming from a southeast Asian who have spent time in Thailand and can tell you you can’t get anything more authentic than what you find in Vancouver. I’ve been to lots of Thai places in Van and only one at Nanaimo and Hastings can satisfy my taste. Some of the dishes in Iyara have been adjusted accordingly due to its locality for example Tom Yum Guung as opposed to those served on the streets of Thailand - way less spicy. Not trying to give away their recipe - they have what it takes if you’re into cultural food. And also due to the availability of fresh ingredients in Canada to make Thai street food, I can say Iyara is doing pretty darn good.

I just loved their thai food soooo much. Their spice levels are the best. We opted for 4 and it was bang on. I tried their green thai curry with prawns and its my ultimate favourite. Kudos.
