I come from Burnaby, but seeing as there aren’t many gluten free bakeries I don’t mind making the drive. However, I’ve had several bad experiences. None of the front staff can ever answer any questions, always seem lost and have no idea about any of their products. I was also told a product didn’t contain egg, they even checked their book and ensured me it was safe. Sure enough, I had an instant reaction and the front staff called the owner or baker and they confirmed there was indeed egg and their book was wrong. Also, they used to be a nut friendly bakery but now offer hazelnuts, pecans and peanut cookies. Do not recommend making a trip out here. The only item worth it is their French bread, seeing as they discontinued their Sourdough.

Appreciated them delivering this to Vancouver Island. Glad to support local business. Good people but ... No where near Gluten Free Epicurean on Donuts or Apple Fritters, not even close. Bit disappointed really. Maybe just an off batch though.

I went to the Bakery location off Coast Meridian this morning and ordered 2 cinnamon buns, a cheese scone and 2 brownies. The employee putting the order in the take out box used her fingers (no gloves, no tongs) to pick up the brownies from the display case and put the brownies in the box! I didn’t see how the other items were selected because I was looking at some other items on the side counter then turned back to look as the employee picked up the brownies but it seems likely fingers were used for those as well. The employee then used the cash register etc. I felt really awkward about saying anything in the moment…paid and left but kept thinking about it and didn’t end up eating any of the items because who knows if the employees hands were clean. This was definitely not a safe food serving practice and I won’t be buying anything here again.*UPDATE*The Bakery was quick to respond and to address my concerns. As a result I will visit again!

Love this place for gluten free baking!! Only problem I had was the store looks closed from the outside! I almost drove away until I saw a worker walk by. The lights are on but through the window to outside it looks dark and closed!!! Great place though

I I emailed company this...they never responded so I rate....,Just purchased a Chocolate Cake from you for my husbands Birthday Nov 11 pick up in Poco . I was going to place a review on your site but wanted to see what your thoughts were first before I did.The appearance was nice, and the texture of the cake was good. The taste however was really off....it had a very earthy and unpleasant taste to it. I believe it was the icing..and not sure why it was so bad. Can you give me any thoughts as to why.It wasn't just me, my son who generally loves anything ...and I mean anything disliked it too.Sorry but this was so disappointing and $60 to boot.I wanted so badly to enjoy.
I have dairy and egg allergies, my boyfriend is celiac. Makes it tough to find pastries to enjoy together. We really loved the chocolate banana muffin from here, but most other pastries we’ve tried have been nauseatingly sugary.The quinoa fudge bar, the Oreo cookie, most recently the cinnamon cookie. I had to toss it out because it was somehow so sugary and so SO salty all at once yet not cinnamon-y at all? That’s really my only gripe, other than that I’m just happy to have a bakery accessible to vegans and gluten free people even if it’s a hit or miss with the sugar content of pastries.

Great place for people with dietary restrictions. Their entire menu is gluten-free, but unlike most pastry places, they've managed to make GF Pastries taste really good. Absolutely a fsvourite in our home.Dietary restrictions: Entire menu is GF. They also have some vegan options.
We have tried this bakery 3 times now. I held off on submitting a review because I don’t like to say negative things about small businesses. This bakery looks delicious, they have always been well stocked and the staff have always been friendly. We REALLY wanted to love this bakery but unfortunately it’s just not for us. 1st time items were dense and hard(muffin, Oreo type cookie) 2nd time we tried donuts(sour cream glaze and mini cinnamon) - tasted good but super heavy. Required milk to get it down. We also tried cinnamon buns and croissants- these looked gorgeous but both had a heavy and very unappealing yeasty taste. We ended up throwing them out. 3rd and most recent time we picked up some Halloween donuts again they look beautiful but we’re just ok. Hardly any filling and sadly dry almost like they were baked yesterday and sold today. I also tried a lemon crinkle cookie from the caffe and that was VERY good, however i think this is probably the last time for us. We can’t justify the price for the quality. We prefer Lemonade bakery to be honest.Dietary restrictions: Dedicated gluten free
