Some meat and mushrooms are not fresh. It's not worse the price and I can't believe somebody will spend an average of 150 to this restaurant.

My BF and I had no plans on Valentine's Day (late post), and on a whim, we decided to go out for dinner. We were on our way to Richmond and called Alley BBQ to see if they could accommodate us for a last minute reservation, and they were able to! We were so pumped. The service was so great, everyone was just so nice and tentative. They helped us cook the meat, and seafood to ensure our food was perfect. For the other items, they advised us on the duration, and how to cook it. PS, If it's your first time at Alley BBQ, the menu is via QR code, you order right from your phone, and the food is brought out by the servers. Please be sure to ask about ordering instructions if you aren't sure! PPS, We ordered the following dishes; ALLEY'S SALAD I have to say, this salad was soooo refreshing. The flavour was sweet, a bit citrusy with just the right ingredients. Fresh leafy greens, cashews & almonds, topped off with fresh apples and oranges. Prob one of the best salads I've ever had! Yah yah, I know paying for salad is ehhhh, but def worth trying this salad. A5 WAGYU TASTING Okay, so the photo on the menu was a bit deceiving. L o L. The photo showed 4 pieces of the A5, and the price was $65, and we were like, damn that's a good price. HOWEVER, it is $65 for ONE piece ("taster"). This was sooo delicious tho. Melts in your mouth! ALLEY CUT B/L SHORT RIB BBQ The server helped us with the cooking process on this one (thank gosh). The marinade was very flavourful. Delicious with rice. The meat was juicy and tender. Once the fat is rendered, it had a bit of a crisp to it. Tasty. HOKKAIDO SCALLOPS The Scallops were basically de-shelled. When we were cooking these, we were able to flip them no problem! Usually, it's a big of a struggle with shellfish. The scallops were fresh, had a nice natural sweeter taster to it, and grilled well. HOKKAIDO SCALLOP MISO SOUP So, we liked the soup, and the scallop was so delicious. However, we would've been okay without all that extra seafood. Like no salmon, no squid, and JUST the broth and scallop, it would have been just as amazing. MACKEREL Not gunna lie, by the time we got to the mackerel.. we were stuffed like stuffed crust pizza. We grilled it anyways just to have a taste, and it was a yummy bite. Really nice with the sauce they give you and a small bite of rice, delicious. We packed the rest! Other foods we ordered but no pics; 1. Corn: The corn was SO sweet!!! They precook the corn a bit so you're not waiting a decade for the corn to finish cooking. They brush a bit of sauce (not sure what it is) and it was very lightly salted. Complimented the Corn well. 2. Wagyu Oil Rice: I wouldn't say it was anything special really, but it tasted good. Compliments the BBQ meat well. 3. Koshihikari Rice: This is just regular steamed rice lol. This BBQ place is a bit on the pricier end. However, we felt that we paid for quality versus quantity.

The quality of meat is very good. Make sure you order tomato with plum, so refreshing!

Beef is very high quality but it’s a little bit pricey. They got great Japanese beer though.

This place is the best place in town for some great BBQ! The quality of the food is extraordinary. The vibes, oh boy, the VIBES, are amazing as well. I can on and on about alley bbq, however I'll keep it short and sweet, GO. Bring your date, bring your family, bring your kids. Alley BBQ never disappoints.

Don't come here if you are here on vacation, ordered holy cow and was not impressed. 1 brown bills for just a little bit of meat and nothing else. Its more gimmick than anything. Their best cut has a dark brownish hue, not fresh and very beefy.

Small little gem in the heart of Richmond. Decided to try this place with my mom as it looked like a cozy restaurant. First impressions of the place really made me feel like I was back in Asia again. The quality of the meat is one of the best I have had in the area. We had the "Holy Cow" set which is a big platter with a variety of cuts (recommended for anyone trying for the first time). The short rib was juicy and full of flavour while the cow tongue to my surprise was also tender in every bite. We really only had to dip the meat into the lemon juice with a tiny bit of salt on top and the flavour would come out. They also offered a miso sauce which was a nice change to the palate once in awhile. We also ordered a side dish of Tako Wasabi and Candied Plum Tomato. The tako wasabi here has a much stronger flavour profile than most other restaurants I have tried and I absolutely love it (spicy enough to sting the nose if you know what I mean)! The candied plum tomato offered a nice refreshing cleanse to the palate after eating so much meat with all the oil lingering in your mouth. The staff are super friendly, well trained, and attentive to our needs. We felt like our grill could be used a bit more but they offered to change the grill without us even asking. They even offered to help us grill some of our meat when they weren't as busy which we appreciated.Overall, my mom and I had an amazing experience here and would definitely come back again. The portion may not feel like a whole lot for its price point however you really can't compare it to other types of BBQ restaurants out there as I feel they focus on quality over quantity. You essentially get what you pay for and this place delivers, especially for special occasions.

The food is definitely overpriced for the quality and the portions. Other than refilling water, the workers do nothing at all. Orders are done through a counter intuitive app with half of the drink menu out of stock. Also, what kind of BBQ place that sells 4 types of drinks? For an Asian place, can’t even serve tea? It’s overall a pretty bad experience. Would not recommend.

nice presentation. Different level enjoyment for BBQ

Quite pricey for bbq but that being said the different cuts of meat was nicely displayed on a spread and were of really good quality. Only have hot house sake - this was not noted on the menu nor were we told after ordering. Currently the menu and ordering food is done through your phone.
