I've eaten here 3 times, each time making it a point to try something new with every visit but also always ordering a couple of spam musubi's to go. Service is great and owners and staff are extremely friendly. Definitely recommend the huli huli chicken, great food and great portions. Look forward to my next visit!Parking: Street Parking can be a bit tricky as it is pretty busy in that area, hopefully it is a nice day in which you can always park a little further away and walk but if that's not for you there is always the paid parking lot across the street

Ordered from skip the dishes and it was unreal. The best chicken plate I ever had in Richmond hands down. I would highly recommend ordering on skip or going in to eat.

Finally some great ribs! Musubi was lovely and omg zero sugar Mountain Dew?! Will be back to try the chicken and grilled spam for sure. Owners are lovely, totally worth the stop in the village.

Friendliness and customer service - amazing! Garlic shrimp and Huli Huli chicken plates - amazing! The chicken was tender and juicy. Great flavour. Loved the Mac salad and can't go wrong with corn! The garlic shrimp doesn't taste exactly like it does in Hawaii. A little less garlicky and buttery but does the job! Shave ice! So good! It would be amazing if they had mochi option or ice cream to add. I'm glad though to have all the fabulous flavour options you can find from Hawaii here! POG, passion fruit, lychee, mango! Yum! Good amount of seating and cool surf boards and designs inside.

A bit surprised at the low reviews, perhaps they've improved since summer? We came here recently for lunch and ordered the loco moco and huli huli chicken, as well as a couple spam musubis to share. The prices seemed quite steep at first, but one loco moco + a spam musubi was the perfect size to share between two people so it wasn't so bad. The flavour of the loco moco wasn't as in your face as I'd hoped, it paled in comparison to the loco mocos I'd had in Hawaii. The huli huli chicken didn't disappoint though, it was juicy and packed with flavour. I also enjoyed the sides of corn and macaroni it came with. The interior aesthetics are super pleasing to the eye, we were admiring the unique surfboard artwork on the wall as we ate. One other criticism we had was that the food was served in cardboard trays even though we were eating inside (my Hawaii connoisseur friend told us it was meant to be a homage to Hawaiian restaurants often serving food in takeout boxes, but also thought it wasn't very eco-friendly). If we do come back again, I'd definitely get the huli huli chicken and maybe one of their shaved ice flavours.

Saw a lot of recommendations and thought I'd give it a try. At first there was no one and I was hesitant, but forged ahead.Worries was for nothing, it absolutely slaps. The macaroni salad, the fried egg on the chicken, the sauce, everything just matched so well together. You must get a spam masubi though and eat it while it's warm, the sauce on the masubi was what made it so good that we bought 2 to go as well.

Newish Hawaiian spot that opened up in Steveston. Small little shop with a few tables inside. Dishes are generally served up like the plate lunches that you find in Hawaii. Kind of wish they had more environmentally friendly containers. The garlic shrimp is served shell-on (gotta make sure to suck all the flavour on it. Served with rice and their version of mac salad. Overall good flavour but shrimp are kinda small if you compare them to the garlic shrimp you get in Hawaii. The sauce is a bit more thick and savory.Really enjoyed the huli huli chicken. There was a nice caramelized sauce on the skin and the meat was nice and tender. One complaint was the spam musubi. The rice was hard and crumbled apart (kind of reminded me of rice that's been sitting in the fridge). Not sure if that was a one-off thing.Update: revisit in mid October. Ordered the huli huli chicken again but also tried the Maui beef ribs. The ribs were plentiful and saucy (although some pieces were a bit tougher to chew through). A feel like the chicken was better on our first visit - think they didn't sauce it enough (mental note to ask for more sauce next time).

Had a fantastic experience here! Went on a weekday right at opening to avoid any crowds. We ordered the loco moco, beef short rib, spam musubi and butter mochi. The loco moco was juicy and cooked perfectly. The gravy matched it perfectly and didn’t overpower the rice. The egg was perfect and runny and soaked into the rice. The beef ribs had great flavor from the grill! They could’ve been a tad bit thicker but still phenomenal. The butter mochi was soft and chewy and tasted just like we had on the island. The hot sauce is a must! Home made and went well with the meat. One of the owners even had came out to us a a free sample of their Huli Huli chicken and home made hot sauce which was amazing, fresh off the grill. It’s the nice gestures like this that promote the spirit of ohana that Hawaii is known for :) we bought a bottle of their hot sauce as well! We will definitely return and try out more of the menu!
