Fluffy pancakes are pretty good but doesn't really "wow" me. However, it is good, not too sweet (def a compliment). Cute café to have a little hangout with friends for sure. Or a date (who doesn't want something sweet on dates right) ?

I ordered Uber take out and this is a $18 tiramisu? And a $6.50 bacon? Just a portion like this?

I had a small strawberry soufflé pancake to go. It was soft, rich and satisfying. The service I received was lovely too.

Should only deserve 3 stars because:- only one waiter active at any given time or day- air conditioning was off. We were wearing T-shirts and shorts and still we found the room rather warm or lacking air circulation. Outside temp was 21C at the time. Maybe that's why aircon was off.- expensive. Knew Gram is a Japanese cafe beforehand as we have visited a few many times while traveling Japan and living in Hong Kong. Being a Japanese cafe means it would be expensive, and presentation and taste are more important than quantity. My "BLT Sandwich" has one thin slice of bacon (for each half of bread), one slice of tomato, one lettuce leaf, and two slices of bread. And that cost $16. Sadly, the taste of my BLT sandwich is no better than if I were to pan-fry bacon myself at home and sandwiched it. So, yes, $16 for something I can make myself within 5 minutes, has the same taste if not better, and cost less than a dollar to make is extremely exorbitant if you ask me. I'll stick to pancake or deserts if I were you ?- weak coffee. Not a fan of Japanese coffee, but others consider it gourmet coffee. I traveled all over Japan and everywhere offered similar coffee. I guess I'm a Starbucks/Tim Horton coffee guy. The only reason I was there was the wife had a craving for pancakes.Gave it 4 stars because:- 5 minutes with no service, the one-and-only waiter finally came over, and explained he was busy working on a lot of orders and will get back to us in 10 minutes. To compensate us, my "Drip Coffee" was free of charge. Not only that, it offered free top-up. Honestly, we wouldn't mind so much waiting if the air-conditioning was turned on.- waiter was all-smile, charismatic, very friendly and very polite. That's the kind of service that deserves 15% or more tips.

The pancake is delicious and very good service by the server! It's one guy running the whole floor so he's obviously busy with so many tables but overall he was attentive and energetic. We'll come back next time to try the other pancake flavours ? it does take a while for a fresh batch of pancakes to be made (the server did tell us a 30 min ETA) so don't come if you're in a hurry. The seatings are comfortable and the store is spacious so waiting wasn't an issue for us.

The tiramisu cold coffee is to DIE FOR!! ?The food was pretty good but the customer service? It was horrible..We had a guy serving us and he paid 0 attention when we needed to order or had a question.. he was helping all the Asians in there but completely ignored my and my girlfriends. He didn’t even come to us to ask us if we were okay or if we needed help! He didn’t even come take our order but kept running to Asians who came AFTER us. Was so so disappointed with the customer service.I had ordered a strawberry pancake and he didn’t even bring it with the other pancakes.. we had to re-order and ask him to get it for us. ?Didn’t tip at all for this very reason.

I saw someone else post that the restroom was dirty and the "garbage/sanitary bin was on the floor" bro first of all its cleaner than most PUBLIC restrooms I've been in ever and second homegirl where did u expect the garbage bin to be on the wall?? Bruh.I go here for lattes all the time and everytime I get surprised by the latte art!just wanted to throw in an actual review and not just roast another customer lmao.Vegetarian options: Very customizable; you can swap any meat with avocado, eggs, more pancakes, salad, etc.Dietary restrictions: Server was knowledgeable about which food items contained pork (including gelatin) for my muslim friend :))Kid-friendliness: Highchairs available, fun drinks and pancakes for kids tooWheelchair accessibility: On the ground floor across from the elevators

Had a horrible experience at this location. I went there to buy their cool premium pancakes and I was expecting to have the same packaging as other locations. I bought these pancakes at their Kingsway location and they have a nice branded box for takeout. But for this location, so upset, it was just a brown takeout box with no name on it. According to the server, he said we’re a different store so we don’t have the same packaging. I was surprised to hear that because aren’t you a franchise? Shouldn’t everything be the same? So if I go to a Tim Hortons, would I expect different packaging because they are a different store? Very funny. Also, their servers had bad service and it felt like they didn’t want to work at all. Additionally, there’s a long hair guy that kept on touching his hair while serving to other customers. Do they even have food safe? Is this Richmond standard? I will never come to this location again.

tiramisu pancake was fine, nothing to write home about; the chocolate ice cream was surprisingly good. very pricy for what you getas a party of 8, we were charged 18% auto gratuity without being informed - the staff member simply clicked through to 18% on the machine and handed it to me. we didn’t even get water refills so im not sure how they justify the service charge…suffice to say, i won’t be returning

Took my girlfriend to Aberdeen Mall yesterday for her last " DUD's " shopping before she leaving on Sunday back to Johannesburg , it is week end , the mall is packed special all the restaurants and food court , we come upon Gram Cafe not busy at all , only two tablets occupied , it is more like a snake place , i perfect for us , we just like rest and relax to get my breath back , very cute cozy little place and very different concept for Pancake house , not Dutch style very unique , staff very friendly and helpful , help us choose the menu , the Premium Pancakes surprised not too sweet very spongy and fluffy , and the mixed berries French Toast nicely done , little disappointing about my Cold brew coffee , very weak no flavour , but my girl love her Mocha , we both did enjoyed the quiet time and the pancakes together , they also have multiple locations in midland so try it out it is different ! but unique .

The premium pancakes which is like a cross between pancakes and souffle are very warm, fluffy, moist and sweet. Wait time can be pretty long but it's worth the wait for warm freshly made pancakes and the free internet also helps pass the time. The staff was also very friendly and helpful. Will come back again some time.

This cafe boasts delicious pancakes from Japan that you can enjoy in a fun, clean and spacious environment.I come here to study and and there’s always something on the menu to keep me going. I especially enjoy the JJ Bean espresso drinks, which pair well with the Premium Pancake and other Soufflés; I also enjoyed the spirited Sunset Lemonade with the savoury Salmon Avocado pancake.I visited here many times and my meals were always tasty and satisfying. A hot and fresh batch of fluffy pancakes can take between 10 and 30 minutes to make, but sipping on coffee while studying or catching up with friends always made the time go fast. The speakers streaming a curated list of mellow Japanese indie songs is an exquisite bonus. The staff are easy to talk to and attentive to your needs. I once had a friendly chat with my server, Summi, and asked her to ensure that the kitchen made my pancake without peanuts, and boy, did she tell them ^^ Origami and artwork by the staff give this cafe a rare local charm and personality.Vegetarian options: Milk alternatives: soy, oat, almond, coconut.Kid-friendliness: High chairs, juice options, clean and calm environmentParking: Right beside the parkade entranceWheelchair accessibility: Open floor plan, elevators, automatic washroom door

The good news is that this Gram has the full menu - 5 different soufflé pancake varieties and a whole bunch more regular pancake, as well as French Toast and other things. (The Gram on Kingsway in Vancouver only has a limited menu!). It's also not that crowded. The bad news is that there's a reason it's not that crowded. The soufflé - it is fluffy, but it's not anything really special. The portions are pretty small - both soufflé and regular pancakes. Most soufflés have only two, only the "premium" has three. It's really more like a snack. There are other soufflé pancake places which offer IMO much bigger (or normal) portions and even more variety. In particular Fufu.

The first time I ate at Gram was in Osaka and wasn’t able to find another place in Calgary that made such fluffy pancakes! With that said, I only have the premium pancakes here not the regular ones. I like going here specifically for the premium ones. This time I also tried the scrambled eggs, which were flavourful, but I didn’t like how they were sweet, like they have syrup or honey on them. If you decide to come for the fluffy pancakes when they open, there’s no need to arrive right at 11 am because they take about 45 mins to become available upon opening.
