We went here yesterday and the service wasn't great but it was very busy and there was a change over in sections so the service was a bit lacking... BUT the food was good so I went back again today. The food was even better and the service was excellent. It is very nice to sit right on the dock area with a view of the water. I definitely recommend this place for fish and chips or any type of fish burger.Next door is an awesome fresh frozen yogurt place/Gelato. Highly recommend.

The day I went it was lunch time so the atmosphere was relaxed and the service from the girls was very good but the food is not something I haven't tried before but it's still

We boated in to Steveston, docked and walked up the pier to this lovely restaurant for a early dinner, really late lunch. We got the fish and chips platter to share. The batter was fresh and not greasy. So delicious. The patio setting was great on a Sunday that it was. Will definitely hit this place up again next time we are boating in the neighbourhood.

First time here and we went on Canada Day, no reservations were being accepted for the day so was a bit nervous but luckily there was no wait time and we were seated immediately. The crab and spinach dip appetizer was amazing! Disappointed that they didn't have their paella offered on the menu for the day (researched the restaurant and was looking forward to trying it) probably due to Canada Day so ended up ordering the seafood linguine which wasnt terrible but the seafood was sparse and the sauce a little too salty for my liking but palatable.Service was to be expected on a busy day like Canada Day so not much to say there, food took a while to get to our table but the wait wasn't terrible.Overall not a bad experience, probably will go back to try the paella.

Two of us stopped in simply to have some fish & chips. In Steveston this is what one does. The restaurant is in a great location for observing the goings on at the docks and the crowds. Sitting out on the patio, such as it is, is pleasant when the sun's shining. We had a local draft each and shared a large halibut and chips. Portions were fine for a sharing lunch. The waitress was challenged focusing on our needs, even though the restaurant was not crowded at all. Wait times were longer than one should have to tolerate. Two beer and a shared fish and chips was $56 (including tip), which is pricy in my world.Parking: There is a lot adjacent and another very near to park at however during peak season I'd expect them to be unavailable.

Reviews don't lie, and I wish I paid attention to the reviews for this place! The good: We were seated promptly, lots of variety on the menu, and had a table with a nice view. The bad: Our server didn't come to take our order, or bring water, for a good 20 minutes. Yes, I kept track of the time. When we did place our order, it took a solid 30 minutes for our food to come (fish tacos, burgers pasta, and paella). I figured it's taking so long because the food is great, right? Not right. My nephew didn't touch his burger, my sister in law's paella looked like cold leftovers sloppily plopped on a plate, and my fish tacos were cold. My brother's pasta dish looked great, though, and he seemed to enjoy it!Lots of great food options in Steveston, please skip this spot.

food is great, salmon fish& chips is very tasty, outdoor seating atmosphere is great. unfortunately service is a bit disappointing. Took awhile to get dishes delivered & seems no one cares or understaffed to even refill water.Parking: only paid parking on street or in parking lot nearby, no free parking

Great location, but I was kind of disappointed with the food quality for the price. The salmon tasted both overcooked as well as cooked from frozen. The service was solid and there seemed to be quite a big variety of dishes though.

The location is great but the food was pretty mediocre. I have been to others on the pier that were better. Had the seafood chowder that was warm not hot.. Had the bacon poutine and that was pretty decent. Tea was fantastic. Price was decent.

In this area, there are better choices. This restaurant has a great location and the view of the docks can't be beat. A refresh inside is needed though as it is showing the wear and tear that comes with being in a location with high walk-in traffic. That is the customer base for this business as it would not be on our list for destination dining. The service was friendly; but not attentive. The restaurant was not busy and there were three wait staff on the floor. These three staff spent most of their time talking at the counter. We had to flag our waitress repeatedly, including when we wanted to pay our bill. There were also errors on our order that caused one in our party to be eating after the rest of us had finished. The food was okay; but did not reflect a quality concomitant with the prices in this establishment. The stir fry was uninspired, being heavy on the salt and made up primarily of common spaghetti noodles. The cod fish and chips was oily, likely the result of fry oil being too cool. Other dishes were also in the "meh" to "disappointing" range. For a view, this restaurant is great. For food and service, there are better choices right next door. Two stars are fair: one for the view and one for being in Steveston.

Haven't been here for awhile, but used to come here for halibut and chips quite often years ago. Unfortunately, food quality has deteriorated significantly - halibut batter was soggy and doughy. It used to be British style - thick and crispy, and the chips are no longer the nice, thick, golden brown Kennebec style, but very thin, undercooked, and very stale - barely edible. Halibut fillets are also much smaller now. They used to be served on top of the chips, were nice and thick, and went from one side of the plate to the other. All in all, some of the worst fish 'n chips I've ever eaten. My wife had the crab eggs benedict, which she said was gross - tasted like fake crab meat, and her Calimari was undercooked. She left most of her food on the plate. So disappointing. Next time we'll go to Dave's Fish 'n Chips - hopefully they're still good.

We decided to take advantage of the lovely weather and have an outdoor patio dinner in Steveston. After strolling along the boardwalk and surveying the options we picked Sockeye City Grill. My husband ordered a Halibut Burger, our daughter ordered Grilled Cheese Sandwich and Fries, and I ordered a Penne Pasta dish.Penne Pasta: It came with spinach, grape tomatoes, mushrooms, fresh herbs, parmesan and a basil-pesto sauce. Simply sublime!Grilled Cheese Sandwich and Fries: Her sandwich and fries came with a drink, and she got it all for $10. Pretty reasonably priced, especially considering how generous the portions were. Grilled cheese was grilled to perfection, and she was a very happy girl.My husband's Halibut Burger: Crispy on the outside and tender on the inside.Service: GoodParking: Plenty of free parking on the streets, but on a sunny day it can be quite busy in Steveston. We usually manage to score free parking but if you don't manage to get one of the free spots, there are pay parking lots available.Location: Lovely waterfront setting

It was really great eating here! Loved the food selection that they had (and that they had free refills on some drinks). It wasn't too expensive - the prices were very fair. We got seated outside and it was wonderful. Overall a great experience!

This restaurant on the wharf is an ideal dinning spot for locals and visitors looking for a typical Steveston meal of fish and chips. Although the meals aren't cheap they are plentiful. The service is polite and as expected. The location is probably the best thing about this spot. The restaurant has an outside patio on the boardwalk with a waterfront view. This type of dining experience is roughly $20+ a plate.
