Empress chicken isn't very tasty and more bony than Neptune's. Congee is very watery. No wonder, there was hardly any customers dining in at 12:30 pm. Even take-out, only saw 1 person order. BTW, their prices on the website is not up to date with their menu in store.

Was craving bbq pork and wonton noodles and stumbled across this restaurant. The server taking the order was pleasant and friendly. I got my food within 5 minutes. They separated the noodles and soup (some restaurants don’t do this!) in two different containers and the meal hit the spot. Would recommend and will come back to try other Cantonese comfort food.

The chicken dishes are good but getting very expensive, I had Salt baked chicken lunch set and asked for dark meat (additional $1.50 i think) Total $18.50 ? that’s too expensive for lunch.I go there often and one of the waiter is ALWAYS very rude, she should quit if she does not like the job or boss and should not release her unhappiness at the customers.

Used to be a favorite, partly due to its fair price. Since covid, it's gotten way too expensive. To give you an idea, I ordered a tofu dish with a few mushrooms ($21); Eggplant/chicken hot pot ($23), the chicken was almost nonexistent. These 2 dishes alone is already $44. If I am paying this much, I might as well go to Red Star or Kirin, where the quality is far superior. Goodbye Specialty Chicken...

Always really good food. Folks have brought me here a few times and every time we order their chicken dish... From Hainanese to salt baked chicken to soya chicken. My fave is the salt baked chicken. Oh and do try their squid hot salt dish! It's fabulous!

I been visiting here for many years. The multifunctional pot allowed people do bbq, steaming and eating regular hot pot at the same time. Good experience

Going to Richmond can be an overwhelming experience, as trying to find a place to eat makes my head spin! There are food options everywhere, and I never know what's good unless someone suggests or recommends a place. Lol we came here on a recommendation that the soy sauce chicken here was delicious, so this review is only for the free range soy sauce chicken. The dish itself for a whole chicken was $32, which we thought was quite expensive. The chicken itself was cut well and didn't look so scrawny like most free range chicken. It still had that chewier texture than normal chicken, but was much meatier than normal. The skin was nice and smooth, and the soy flavour was delicious! They serve it with the standard side of sweet soy, and also ginger scallion oil which I found odd and took away from the soy flavour (not required I would say). All in all a great dish, but not something you would eat normally due to the price.

Entered the restaurant with my vaccination card but the lady worked there said sorry new rules, she had to see my vaccine QR code instead. So fine, as I had this downloaded as well. I then showed her my QR code and she "scanned" it with her eyes and asked my id to match that- such high tech! The dinning area was actually quite large and there were only 3 tables of guests. But instead of being placed with a distance with the customers, the waitress decided to put me adjacent to the others, which I did not like. There were 2 people working as waiters, bussing as well as serving the take-out customers. I saw both of them using the same gloved hands handing the food to me right after clearing the other tables!I ordered chili pork chop and fried 4 season beans with 2 bowls of rice, total damage was $28.50. Food was just average.I will go some place else with better conscience about food-safe handling.

Food was okay, stir- beef with rice noodle is about $10.99 - $13.99 elsewhere. Here they charged $18.00 and 50 cents for take out container. Too expensive! Waitress is slow and poor customer services. NOT recommended.

I had their Free Range Hainan Chicken Meal with soup and upgraded to yellow oil rice for an extra dollar. The meal cost $15.85 before tips. This place is decent and serves traditional Cantonese food including steamed tilapia and has so many types of chicken available. The presentation was good. The soup was delicious with pork bones and meat and tasted very homemade and hearty. The yellow oil rice was soft, fresh and flavorful. The free range Hainan chicken was quite overly salty but otherwise had good flavour and came with some veggies and roasted peanuts.Overall, good chicken and rice but just a bit too salty taking away from the enjoyment of the chicken flavor.

As the name says, their chicken dishes were superb. Our host ordered one with ginger/spring onion/soya plus another Hainan style, both yummy. A bit disappointed with the sautéed vegetable and beef, not dry enough. The bean curd dish was on the salty side. That plate of noodles was not properly prepared - not done by the chef? The ladies serving us were friendly but too many clients by limited number of staff? Did not try their wonton soup yet.

Food is good but waiting time for the kitchen is long.

Absolutely delicious food. Known for the chicken but most of the dishes are good.

Great food and quality service!

Taste is very good, everything was great and authentic Cantonese style food that you would expect to find in Hong Kong. The price and service was why I gave them 3 stars. They were not very busy the morning we decided to go there and it took almost 45 mins before we got our food. I also cant justify paying almost $50 for 4 dishes, especially when the portions were not very large. Great food if you are willing to pay the price, but there are so many restaurants close by that aren't as expensive.
