I have formally left a 5* review for Luz Tacos. I have been visiting Luz for about 3 years, relatively frequently from Whistler. I was initially shown Luz by a friend when it was a good truck outside a frame brewery. I must have had tacos there more than 20 times, both at the food truck and when it changed location to geo cidre and have always found the tacos to be exquisite. I travelled Mexico for 2 months a few years ago and these usually are the best tacos outside of Mexico and one of my favourite places to eat on the sea to sky. Yesterday on the way to the city, we decided to take some friends on the way down and were bitterly disappointed. Something has definitely changed, despite the server telling us otherwise. First of all the tacos aren't even on the menu, nor is there any references to Luz Tacos. The server explained this as something to do with the landlord having issues with another of their owned properties and not being able to have 2 mexican places, whatever that means. The presentation of the tacos was completely different, they usually come on a tray with 3 connected "v's" so you can easily pickup the tacos and they're wrapped in 2 tortillas as you can see in other reviews posted to Google. The tacos I had yesterday were frankly terrible, they were missing heaps of ingredients and sauces. I always ask for mine to be extra spicy and they're made that way, yesterday I was given a little pot of sauce to put on myself. Usually the tacos are quite messy to eat because of the amount of sauce dripping from them. I had 2 pastor (my favourite) and 1 carnitas as usual and I can absolutely guarantee this was the same taco as usual. Either geo cidre is lying that Luz tacos is still there and it's their food, or something terrible has happened. RIP Luz Tacos

The place is great, but for a Mexican Food connoisseur, I would say it is a fusion, but not really Mexican food at all.

Was really craving tacos and was impressed by the baja fish tacos. Lots of fish. Apart from that I was not impressed. Other tacos faintly reminded me of dog food and was way too saucy. Straight mush. Would not come again, don’t waste your time, drive on.

It's not the taco truck of old. There is so much on the menu, and the style now is very fresh and flavourful! Their taco salads are delicious; the chicken is my favorite. They have a proper selection of tequila, too. Worth visiting if you haven't been yet!

Great tacos, best I ever had! Service was very accommodating and friendly. Only the ac was a bit strong so I got a bit chilly. Very good cider and a nice place to eat!
Delicious jalapeño poppers and the best veggie tacos were the crema de rama and the baja cauliflower! Tasty churros also would recommend to anyone!

I absolutely love this place. Tacos are amazing. But, it's just too expensive. Myself and my partner got 3 tacos and 1 pint of cider each. After the tip it was over $80. Just seems crazy expensive for small tacos. If it was slightly cheaper, like tacos for $4-5 I'd be back every week.

LuzTacos catered my wife’s 50th. They brought the airstream food trailer to our house. We had approx 80 people. If there where 10 stars to give we would give them that.Hector and Amanda where amazing to help plan. On the day Berny and the team where amazing. Food was excellent. Staff was outstanding. Could not recommend them more!!

Great alternative option for a brewery, restaurant feel for inventive ciders, cocktails and good Mexican style food. The atmosphere is good but catering more as a restaurant than bar. It would be good to see the weekend nights with a bit more ambient lighting and louder music to give more of a cocktail bar feel. The menu is a mix of taco options, burritos, nachos. While all the food options I’ve tried taste great I feel the omission of guacamole to be an oversight, especially with the nachos.Price is slightly high given the simple food options but happy that location exists in this part of town for occasional visits.
Recommended dishes: Pork Steak and Chicken Tacos

Good tacos but grossly overpriced. A small plate of chips and salsa before your meal should be free, not $9!
