After eyeing for the longest time, I finally get the chance to try Okonomiyai Pon. This authentic Japanese restaurant specializing in Osaka style okonomiyaki is located in Surrey, closer to White Rock. They made their own batter using grated nagaimo (a type of yam), kombu broth, egg, cabbage and some flours. They also serve yakisoba, okonomiyaki with noodles, and other tepanyaki appetizers. I tried their The Osaka Special Okonomiyaki. It was so authentic, like the one that I had in Japan. I also had their Takoyaki. The service were also very friendly. There were only 2 girls doing everything from serving, cashier and kitchen work, and they were very efficient. They also asked me how am I doing from time to time, and asked for feedback at the end. I recommend this place for authentic Osaka style Okonomiyaki and Japanese experience!

Delicious! Fresh ingredients made the okonomiyaki very enjoyable. The yakisoba was great too, with the pepper garlic sauce. It is a tad salty, but quite irresistible! Also, the takeout boxes had cute drawings! Will definitely come back for other flavours and to try out the side dishes!

I've been waiting for an authentic okonomiyaki place in B.C for many years after having it in Japan. When I found this Okonomiyaki, I was super excited to see this! I must say, it was very authentic We ordered two original okonomiyaki for take out. It was packed with cabbage, onions and was topped with crispy pork on top. The top was crispy and the inside was moist and savoury. You could tell they made the food with lots of care and love. Each okonomiyaki is hand made and freshly baked to order. It was very much like the ones I had in Kyoto. We also had a side of takoyaki and it was also very delicious! You could tell they make it fresh and not baked or reheated. The outside was slightly crispy but the inside is still soft and very fluffy. Overall, I am very pleased to be able to find great takoyaki and okonomiyaki place here in B.C. with covid-19 restrictions, I can get authentic Japanese yaki (pan fried) food here locally!

Prompt and courteous service. Lots of parking up front and around. Okonomiyaki was light and not greasy at all. We got the Classic, House and Osaka. Enjoyed the classic the most. Classic was our favourite. Will be back for sure.

Miss the thrill of travel, finding new places? Fortunately we are blessed with an abundance of ethnically diverse and delicious foods. For example? Okonomiyaki is classic Japanese street/ casual food. There's a building in Hiroshima which houses several okonomiyaki restaurants, and nothing else.Tried the House Special ( bbq pork and noodles) and the Classic Green ( slathered in green onions but remarkably not over-powering). Tasty, filling, and intriguing. Looks like a giant omlette-ish patty with delicious " fillings".Udon and ramen too.Staff was outstanding.

We stopped by for lunch over the weekend. We were seated right away. Menus were dropped off with tea and water shortly after we were seated. We decided to order a few items - croquettes, okonomiyaki and omu-soba. Food arrived in reasonable time. The croquettes were good. They had a crispy exterior. The potato filling was like mashed potatoes. It was very enjoyable and my kid loved it. The okonomiyaki arrived next. The portion size was huge. I did wish there was more protein so I would add an egg next time. The okie-soba arrived last. It was good bacon was added to the noodles. I found the filling more flavourful with bacon. The egg wrapper was made perfectly. The restaurant was very child friendly. High chairs and kids cutlery were available. Staff were very friendly. Restaurant was clean. I saw staff cleaning regularly. Covid precautions were in place. There was hand sanitizer at the entrance. Contact information was collected for contact tracing purposes. Staff wore face masks.

Okonomiyaki Pon was highly recommend from a bunch of other friends. Went with the girlfriend and everything we ordered was fantastic. Very authentic and tasted exactly like the food from our last trip to Japan. Adding this restaurant to my favorites list. Will definitely be going again.
