Used to be my fav spot. They renovated and it’s absolutely horrible. Took forever to get anything we wanted, which was just napkins and fish sauce which she forgot with the tempura so by the time she brought it, it was cold. Only one server for so many tables. The sushi - oh my god, not good at all. Not fresh, first time we haven’t finished our sushi before. We eat sushi all the time all over and when we travel, had to be the worst. I miss the old Tengoku.

We had raw fish rice, but they only added pieces of fish and gave us tuna that had turned yellow, so my family suffered from stomachaches. They treated me well at first, but things have changed a lot. It's something I do with my mother and son. It was set up by someone who worked at Hannam, so they sold it often, but I don't think so.I have a bad conscience

I've ordered sushi hundreds of times from dozens of restaurants over the last couple of years, and this is the first time I've ever spat sushi out. Tuna roll was completely foul, and the spicy salmon roll was made with salmon which must have been dated because it was so chewy. I was so shocked after the first few bites I threw my entire order in the garbage. This was close to closing time ordered at 10:30 pm.

TenGOKU super sushi-yian?!?Came here a couple of times a decade ago before it went through its transformation. Let’s just say it wasn’t that great before. However, been back twice ever since the younger generation of the family took over. The atmosphere and food quality elevated one level up. And the services are more attentive and welcoming now. Here were the food I ordered this time around;1. Tako wasabi. Nicely seasoned and fresh with a distinctive taste. One of the better ones I had. Good job!2. Appetizer tempura. Decently okay, fluffy batter with a light crisp.3. Assorted sashimi. Very fresh and of generous portion, I think it is in competition with Sushi California up the street. (I personally preferred bite size portion tho lol).4. Albacore toro, saba, chopped scallops, ikura, salmon belly nigiris. Fresh! Especially the tuna toro! (Sadly sold out of chu toro and o-toro).5. Uni nigiris. Very fresh and generous portion of uni! Thank you!6. Spider roll. Ordered this to see how the soft shell crab is. Just as I thought, Korean katsu style, jawbreakers!7. Lobster roll. Came with generous portion of salad but couldn’t taste any thing lobster about it?!?8. Oyster motoyaki. Once again, a little undercooked, the middle of the oysters were still a bit raw. (Attn chefs: just because the cheese melted doesn’t mean the food inside is cooked!).9. Seafood yakisoba. Maybe a tiny bit more sauce is recommended. This place is located across the street from Guildford mall on 152nd Street and it has its own little private parking lot.Inside is quite spacious with a modern interior layout and design. I actually like it cause it has character, not so typical and boring. The service was very friendly and at the touch of a button (yes it’s Korean owned lol). It’s still a little shy of being tenGOKU super sushi-yian, but the food quality was definitely a lot better than before and I came back twice to make sure of its consistency. Everything was really fresh and the portion were comparable to places like Sushi California, Sushi Garden, etc…, my only complaint would be the oyster motoyaki (don’t feel bad, a few places made the same mistake lol)I would repeat especially now they open till 12am during the weekends. 3.5 stars

The food is very good but the price not so justifiable seeing it’s not a downtown vancouver location? However their selection is very good and professional presentations and clean after-taste. Edgy sushi restaurant.
I will tell you why I left without leaving a tip.1) Of the five menu items I ordered, one was not served until the meal was over. When I asked if it had been ordered, they said it was a sewing machine order. I immediately canceled the menu (too late to eat). No apology whatsoever.2) Serve the ramen with a spoon in it. Fortunately, I don't eat the spoon.3) During the almost one hour meal, there was not a single question about food or other needs. There is no table service itself.4) There is no feeling of respect for guests at all.At this level, I think customers should receive tips, not give them.
