Food is really good. But customer service isnt the best. The prices online for lunch box A & B are the same. Yet if you was to switch something from one box to the other it's a $1 more?? Doesn't make sense.

Umami is one of the best sushi places I’ve been to in a while. Amazing & great service, friendly staff, and great food. Good portions and very pleasant atmosphere. Their Sashimi was the best I’ve had. Great plating and the portion of salmon was the biggest I’ve ever seen.
I went there at 7:30pm and asked to sit at a different table. And the lady working there told me I couldn’t cause they were closing soon, but they literally close at 9:00pm… unbelievable. She was extremely rude as well. I would understand if it was busy but it only had a total of 5 ppl sitting there and eating.

We’ve been coming for to this Cloverdale location years. It is always good, and has never disappointed. Their food is consistently served well, portions are generous, service is always spot on.On this occasion, tried their Inari (5.50 ea), which was huge, the spicy was actually spicy. We also had a Negitoro roll (6.25), and the Umami Combo (31.95). Very happy with our meal and service!!

We popped in because a review had mentioned vegan options. The only options were simple veg based rolls. The teriyaki sauce has chicken base, and that omits all hot food. The rolls were higher priced and were okay.
Wow. This place exceed my expectations. Stopped in after an event at Cloverdale Fairgrounds for some lunch and it was quite a surprise how good the food was. Had the spicy agadashi tofu and it was really nice. But the dish that really got me was the Stinky Roll. Everyone needs to experience this roll. It is absolutely massive and way more than I was expecting.

This is my go to place that is close to home.The quality of the sushi is very good and the ingredients seem fresh.The servers at very friendly and give the vibe that they know you and remember you everytime you come in.Umami is a good sushi place for kids. They have a kids box, that even comes with a little treat.The rolls are generous and are not all rice. I find that ordering a special roll is enough to satisfy the appetite of this adult male. The box meals are fairly generic, we usually order a la carte.I recommend trying Umami, its the best in the Cloverdale area for sushi.

This place was amazing!!! I always judge by the miso soup.....and it was amazing ? we tried quite a few different things and they were all amazing. I didn't eat the motoyaki, but reviews from my eating party were good. I definitely recommend the Stinky Roll lol it sounds bad but if you enjoy scallops and fried garlic chips.....this is your roll . I will definitely be back ?
