Very much enjoyed the meal. The Salad Nicoise and Mussels and Frites were very generous portions and the steak was really tender, though didn't look like it. Excellent meal. Had Crepe Suzette which was very much enjoyed. Service was great. Would recommend this place

Ala carte menu. Enter lacks vegetables. My cocq a vin had goons of fat and a burnt chicken leg. My husband's selection was much better with a tender flavorful steak. Waitress was delightful.

We tried this restaurant located connected to our hotel in Vancouver. We were greeted at the door with a welcoming smile and seated at a table of our request. The manager came over and brought us drinks and took our appetizer order. The waiter came by later and took our dinner order. Wife had coq au vin and French onion soup. I had a burger with the bistro salad. The food was fabulous ! Everything tasted fresh we later found out that food delivery comes everyday to the restaurant. This keeps the ingredients at their freshness peak. The presentation was wonderful. The service was delightful. Everyone was so polite and accommodating The restaurant had table cloths and cloth napkins. There is a nice bar attached with tvs This was our first French style restaurant we ever tried and glad we did. After the check came, the waiter spent some personal time with us talking about our trip and home. It added to the warmth of the dinner. We will definitely eat there again before we leave town. It's rated near five stars and now we see why. Enjoy the experience

This was a very disappointing meal! Everything was under par. The Frits were greasy and thin limp strands. The salad nicoise was terrible, all I could taste was olive oil and the salad was severely lacking in content. My husbands fois gras appetizer was the tiniest sliver of pate with what we could only discribe as three hockey pucks of hard thick pieces of over cooked bread. The service was very very slow. Sat down at 7.15 and were served our appies at 8.30. The whole ambience was loud and very hectic. Server kept giving the wrong dish to the wrong person. Definitely needs training. Over all we would not go back as nothing was on point.

A review that was long overdue. We visited Vancouver, BC a few weeks ago. During our visit, we stayed at Executive Le Soleil Hotel in downtown Vancouver. Our stay included breakfast at Alouette Bistro. What a gem. We had breakfast at the bistro all 3 mornings and happy hours on 2 afternoons. If I can give them a 10 stars for the breakfast items, I definitely would. During the duration of our stay, we have the French Toast, Continental, Classic Breakfast, Eggs Benedict, Breakfast Cassoulet and Omelette. Everything was super delicious and my favorite was the Continental of house made granola, yogurt, honey, fresh berries and fresh croissant. Such a simple item on the menu but done so well. Service was also excellent. We were seated immediately and our servers were all very attentive to our needs. Even if you are not a guest of the hotel, one should visit Alouette Bistro for breakfast! I know if I was not a visitor and live locally, I would definitely return and order the Continental breakfast again. I am still thinking of it right now as I am typing!

Alouette is very nice French bistro that has a real Parisian atmosphere. The food is delicious. We highly recommend Crepe Suzette that was one of the best we have ever tried. The staff is friendly and professional.

Not generally a french brunch guy, but we were in the area and looking for some brunch and the menu here looked good! Tired the eggs benedict and vol-au-vent Eggs benedict was great! Eggs cooked just right with a very deep orange yolk that spilled over the croissant base when cut in half. Potatoes were roasted just right without a lot of char and seasoned generously w salt. Overall, it's what you'd expect for an eggs benedict with a croissant base from a french spot! Vol-Au-Vent was something new I tried and was amazing. Definitely enjoyed this a ton. The only description I can think of is an onion/mushroom creamy sauce/gravy poured over puff pastry. The balance of texture and richness was balanced w some acidity in the herb salad on the side. Definitely would recommend and get this again!

My friend and I wanted to end our wonderful vacation with a memorable dinner and Alouette did not disappoint! We were fortunate to get a reservation at the last minute and were seated at the "best table in the restaurant," right by the fireplace. We ordered two appetizers (bone marrow and baked brie), and shared an entree (bouillabaisse) and dessert (crepe Suzette). We savored every dish that came out. We know there are so many wonderful restaurants in Vancouver, but would love to return for another meal like this one.

service and dining was exceptional! Wanita welcomed us at the door and brought us to our table. My partner and I ordered a variety of HH dishes and regular menu dishes. Food was fantastic and came out quickly. Wanita continued to check in with us to ensure we had a fantastic time, she made us feel very welcome and comfortable. The restaurant was beautiful, food was fabulous and the staff was incredible I will definitely be back!!

Beautiful restaurant, but there were a few misses for us.... Entered the restaurant at lunch just after 11 am...they advertise a burger with a beer or wine for 20 dollars. What they fail to do is let you know what type of burger...today's selection was a salmon burger...yea..no thanks. Hub decided after hearing the review from me about this place to order the steak frites for 40 dollars...good price. So we both ordered that. Waitress asked if we wanted bread..we were not sure so we said yea ok...she did not say the bread was an up charge of 6 dollars...I don't think we needed it, however it was super delicious...it would have been nice to know there was an up charge. Got our steaks, and although they looked delicious, they were overcooked.. my medium rare was a medium plus and hubs medium was a medium well...usually this is not a game changer, but the meat quality was not great. They say this is tenderloin so do not expect a filet...other reviews list "filet" and it is definitely not near that quality. The saving grace was the peppercorn sauce..it was magnificent and the bernaise is probably the best and most fresh tasting I have ever had...sadly you don't want sauces to have to cover an expensive piece of meat. Next time I will choose elsewhere for this price point .

Food was amazing. We had the escargot, baled brie, rack of lamb, and finished with crepes Suzette. Everything was perfect. Lamb was fantastic, most, tender, and flavourful. Our server was great, Wanesa is a true professional.

Best French cuisine I've had outside of France. The crêpe flambée is to die for and is a dish I think about daily ❤️ Guillaume is an exceptional waiter and attended to our every need, even providing us with dessert on the house for being a sweet couple. Amazing experience and highly look forward to coming back!

Worse experience I ever had. I was treated terribly in this restaurant

SERVICE here IS 1000% TERRIBLE and I think my sister and I have been RACIALLY PROFILED by this particular server on the 29th February 2024 at 3Pm (We went for happy hour). I don’t know her name but she’s an older white lady with white/blonde hair. The food was great but this lady didn’t even give us the chance to enjoy it. She came back to our table for almost 10 TIMES to ask if everything is okay. Every time we take a bite she’s at the table asking if we like it or is at the distance looking at us. No privacy at all and I noticed she was NOT doing the same to other clients. It was clear that she particularly targeted us. At the end when it was time to pay, she brought the tab and stood right on me staring while I was looking for my card. I was so uncomfortable which made me struggle to find my card so I just paid in cash. I’ve been to a numerous restaurants in Vancouver and this was BY FAR THE WORSE EXPERIENCE I’VE EVER HAD.

We made a reservation here to stop by before a Wanda Sykes show at the QE. My wife had eaten here before but it was my first time here. When you enter it seems like a small, intimate bistro. Once you look around and see the stairs on either side going up to the 2nd floor you realize it is actually much larger. The vast vaulted ceiling in the middle adds to the grandeur. So the atmosphere is great before you even try the food. The service provided by Michael and others was amazing! From bringing around menus to refilling water everyone was very attentive. They were out of the Baked Brie so we ordered Duck Poutine, Shrimps Provençal and Moules et Frites (Mussels & Fries) to share. The poutine was rich, creamy and the fries crispy and nicely seasoned. The lemon, butter & garlic sauce with the shrimp was amazing and I soaked up much as I could with the bread. The mussels tasted wonderful in their sauce as did the crispy fries. All the food was delicious! My wife had the house rose to drink while I had their cocktail special. It was similar to a French 75 but perhaps with grapefruit instead of lemon juice. It was very refreshing. For dessert we had a Decadent Hot Chocolate. It had wonderful whipped cream, chocolate flakes on top of the melted dark chocolate which was very creamy. There was a raspberry & chocolate macaron and biscotti to dip in the hot chocolate. It was incredible and a perfect way to finish off the meal! We’ll be back!Parking: There is paid street parking and paid garage parking options nearby. We’re a 15 minute bus ride from downtown so we took that option instead.
