Just had dinner here tonight and I can't remember getting such friendly, prompt service. It also didn't hurt that the food was also amazing. The mango papaya salad was fresh and clean! Definitely go try this place, it wasn't particularly expensive also. Thanks Banana Leaf!!

If you want something a little different and very tasty, try the Banana Leaf. Great for lunch and it can be busy. Good

One of the best restaurants around! The sheer ambience of this place was a breath of fresh air. Bright colors and an open space made for a very comfortable group meal.Food here was great - so many different options and a rich variety. Our Char Kuey Teow was especially good. My one criticism would be the very minimal protein portions - would have appreciated a standard amount given the restaurant pricing.Nonetheless, definitely a spot worth visiting if you’re looking for Malaysian cuisine in a beautiful space. Thanks to our great server for being so attentive!Vegetarian options: Plenty of vegetarians options as is on the menu.Dietary restrictions: Spice levels are not too much!Parking: Small parking spot behind the restaurant in an alleyway - usually full. Recommend street parking if you find a spot nearby!

Been wanting to try banana lead because of the mixed reviews ive heard from peers + supposed discrepancy of quality betwen locations.Tried the char kuay teow and theres def wok hay which is reassuring. Although some of the sides are not traditional (lettuce w beets). 8/10Also tried friends’ mi goreng (5/10. Not sure why it came out looking orange and couldnt taste rhe sambal at all) + laksa (7/10 albeit wouldve been nice with more seafood and hokkien egg noodles) . Seafood clams were nice but they were quite stingy w the bread for $15 (7/10).Ala carte price point is similar to my fave malaysian place john 3:16. Would come back to try their family style 10 course meal to see if its worth $50/ppService is nice but abit slow to order.Atmosphere is very cute! I like the light wood against the forest green. Reminds me of the tropical jungles back home.

I have been wanting to try out Banana Leaf for a while now and I can say I wasn't disappointed! My girlfriend and I tried out two different fried rice dishes and had a tropical tiki drink, all of which were absolutely delicious. Very flavorful food with a good amount of spice. The staff were super friendly and we loved the ambiance, especially all the plants!Dietary restrictions: Celiac/gluten-free options available!

I can’t believe I haven’t been to this place more often!!! The last time I came here was a really long time ago so this was the first time I came back in a really long time. Absolutely loved the decor and the vibes - I wish I took more photos but trust me when I say it was cozy and perfect :) The food was even more incredible - my partner and I ordered the Haianese chicken, char kuay teow and roti canai. My favourite was the haianese chicken - it was juicy and so flavorful!! Plus it was a hearty helping. We also ordered the mango sticky rice as well and this was my only critique but otherwise everything was delicious!!One of the best Malaysian restaurants on my list now!! Will definitely be coming back ?

Food is just as good as the old days. The superb service is another plus. It is very pleased to see a restaurant with 30+ years business experience can still maintain its high level of outputs at all departments. Great job. Will definitely recommend to anyone.Vegetarian options: Gluten free options are available.

Went there yesterday for my cousin’s birthday. Had one of the best times of my life. The satay skewers with the eggplant fries for appetizers were amazing. I loved the kung pao cauliflower with the nasi goreng. The mango chilli tiger prawns were extremely rich in flavour and super soft in terms of flavour. The redang beef curry was an absolute game changer. Loved it ! Even the drinks menu is very versatile. I ordered the peach Bellini and my cousin ordered the lychee mojito and we both loved it. I want to take a special moment however to appreciate the staff. I had come with a cake as it was cousin’s birthday. The staff very kindly took the cake away, put it in the fridge, brought it out decorated with candles once we were done with our food and all sang happy birthday. It made my cousin’s special day even more special. Plus the customer service was top notch. 100/10 will definitely visit again !Vegetarian options: Since my sister in law is vegetarian thé numerous vegetarian options like the kung pao cauliflower and the eggplant fries really worked wonders for us !

Food was good but not the best Malaysian restaurant in Vancouver when it comes to taste. We ordered the same dishes we ordered a day ago at a different Malaysian restaurant and Banana Leaf comes in 2nd place. We ordered the Beef Rendang and while it tasted good, the beef wasn’t as tender and should have been stewed longer for the flavors to really marinate. The Sambal Tiger Prawns with Veggies was good but there was hardly any gravy. The food wasn’t salted well and I had to hunt down our waitress to get salt. She was nice but wasn’t around much. She never checked in on us once and I even had to flag her down to get out bill. Another server not assigned to us came around twice to remove dirty dishes.Ambiance was nice. Parking cost $9 for 1.5hrs.

Love, love, love this place. Delicious food, fair prices, friendly and attentive staff, and lovely vibe and decor. I wish they had locations in Toronto, as I was just visiting Vancouver. Highly recommend.

The food is delicious but we had ordered the Rendang beef from the lunch menu a couple of times and it came with rice and vegetables. It was huge but for $19 it was decent. Tonight we ordered it again from the dinner menu and it was just the beef. Sure a little bit more beef than the lunch but with nothing else! For $26 it just doesn’t make sense. Very disappointed.

Great atmosphere and design inside. Roti canai and laksa are delicious. Only complaint was that the beef in the rendang was a little dryer and tougher than I've had in the past.Vegetarian options: Lots of vegetarian items
