Stopped in for coffee and a chat with a friend. The barista indicated they had Nicaraguan coffee on offer, in either medium or dark roast. Ordered espresso, and suggested my friend try siphon...in particular I was surprised by the espresso, initially was concerned that the mouthfeel wasn't as syrupy as I prefer, but really enjoyed the flavour, which lingered for a good while after. Definitely recommend this spot, and will be back when in the area again...hopefully to try a crepe as well.

Always impressed by Breaking Bean Cafe! My husband and myself often pop in for a bite to eat and coffee. I love their delicious food - it is the best! , and friendly service! I brought my brother here who was visiting Vancouver for a week and he was so impressed with the Salmon and cream cheese bagel with capers and red onion.

This little coffee shop produced two beautiful stuffed croissants which more than satisfied our hunger. We really lovely the little pot of fresh fruit that came with both dishes and the service was friendly and efficient.

Breaking Bean, a new coffee shop located in the heart of the city, offers a unique experience for coffee enthusiasts. With its modern, yet cozy interior, it creates the perfect ambiance for both casual meetings and solitary coffee breaks. The star of the show is their signature blend, 'The Breaker', which boasts a robust flavor with subtle hints of caramel and nutty undertones. The baristas are knowledgeable and friendly, always ready to offer recommendations or discuss their craft. Additionally, the shop features a small selection of pastries and sandwiches, all freshly made and delicious. However, the limited seating can be a downside during peak hours.

I've been here many times, and I feel the food is not consistent. I got my fav smoked salmon omelette today, but it smelled really off, and when I tasted it, it was way too fishy. Seems like their salmon was not fresh. My partner ended up eating it. The pastries are mostly so-so. Two omelettes and a drip coffee come up to around $45. Not sure if it's really worth the price.

Best Smoked meat bagel sandwich in the city. So much meat. Owner is lovely and they are always busy and happy to see regular customers.

The pastries were good. The coffee was not very good and the fruit really felt like an afterthought not very fresh and tasty.

A cute place tucked away up the hill near the quay. They have a generous variety of coffees, teas and pastries and a nice little store with Asian goods. The aprons in Breaking Bad theme were hilarious. We ordered two coffees and an Apple crumble which were very decently priced. I haven't expected the crumble to be so generously served and delicious.Their service were fast and the restroom clean. I would come back again.
