This is a fusion restaurant of Japanese and French, The food, dessert and tea are excellent ?, a very busy place, there is a big lineup for a table. They don't take reservations unfortunately, they do first come first serve system, but the food deserves the wait! Highly recommended!

Definitely a cute cafe and Japanese fusion. Casual place and good for comfort Japanese food… the restaurant is small, so it felt a bit crowded. I had a good time nonetheless.

Staff were very friendly and welcoming. Food came out relatively fast and it tasted yummy. We were only staying around the area for a day. Glad we found this while walking! We had a baby with us and they were equipped with high chair and baby utensils. Vancouver does offer a lot of yummy stuff I know but this is a neighbourhood gem. Their smoothies were really refreshing.Parking: Small plaza but with free parking available on site.

Went here for lunch since it’s close to where I work. It was empty when I came and got packed few minutes later. The servers were polite but feel like they were in a hurry. The food I got was good, however the hamburger steak tasted like it was not fresh. I only had 1/3 of it. The portion was ok and it was a bit pricey for its size.I will come back to try other food on the menu and give them a chance.

We got the famous Masago de Creamy Spaghetti with Hamburger patty, Chicken Nanban and croquette. The pasta was so creamy with a nice umami taste, it wasn’t too heavy or rich either. The nanban was good, a bit oily. The croquette was surprising because we were expecting mostly mashed potato on the inside but it was a mix of rice, pork, potato, beans, and others. It paired really well with the sauce provided!

An italian japanese fusion spot with pasta and fusion desserts to choose from. The location of this cafe is tucked away in the Marpole area so you wouldn't know its there if you didn't go looking. Luckily there is ample parking so that's not an issue. I love their hayashi special because their stew is so flavourful on a chilly Vancouver night. It also comes with a decent portion size and lots of meat which I enjoy. For a more adventurous choice, we tried their masago spsagetti which was surprisingly tasty without being too rich in flavour. Highly recommend you check it out!

came in for a late dinner on a weeknight with a party of 5 and we were seated right away. the restaurant had a cozy vibe and is small inside so i can see it possible being busier on weekends. food: carbonara pasta with hamburger steak ($18.50) - carbonara is one of my favorite pasta dishes but i didn't really like it here. the sauce was too eggy and dry as opposed to being more creamy and cheesy. the hamburger steak was sweet which i didn't really like although i recognize that these are all personal preferences. my fiancée got the same dish and she said he liked it. and they gave a very generous portion!poutine with hayashi sauce ($17 for large size) - this was soo good, the hayashi sauce was very flavorful and the fries were super crispy. i would come back for this. as a japanese fusion restaurant, they have a lot of interesting items on the menu so despite being disappointing by the carbons i would be open to coming back and trying something else. i give it 3.5/5 stars

It can be a little drafty by the windows and overall a little bit chilly inside.I’ve tried all the pastas but find myself going back to the masago seafood one. I believe the carbonara uses the asian adaptation of cream/dairy instead of the traditional method of stirring hot noodles into whisked egg yolks and whites (about a 7:1 ratio), grated cheese, and guanciale fat (or in this case bacon), which is where the creamy texture of a carbonara originally comes from. The wafu spaghetti is also a unique flavour palette for a pasta (essentially fish stock flavour with the bonito flakes).A lot (or all) of the desserts are made in-house. I see the owner in the restaurant early before opening pouring sugar into a stand mixer! Even on off days it seems too. The restaurant also appears to be consistently staffed with the same people, which translates into service consistency. Morale seems good too. Seasonal decorations also always a nice touch and appreciated!Their Cafe drinks are on point. Overall it’s a great complement to the other businesses at this small complex and the neighbourhood.

I’ve been coming here since they first opened their original cafe on Granville street. Yes I am a fan and I like to think an original fan of Yamatos fusion yoshokuya style Japanese food. His current location here used to be a Japanese sushi restaurant and ever since they located here, Cafe de l’Orangerie has expanded their menu and got a liquor license to serve bevies to go with the food. It’s nice to have that option to pair a Japanese beer with your Hayashi Poutine or a Shrimp Doria. The pastas are typical Japanese style pasta but for me it’s his original creations like the Pork Sauté and for me, even the revised Chicken Nanban. It reminds me of the old Chinese style fried lemon sauce chicken that was served in Chinese restaurants back in the seventies. Just without the sticky lemony sweet sauce and replaced with tartar sauce on the side. I have to admit that they only have one salad option and if you’re a watchful diabetic like I am, then options might be slim. So when I come here it’s a treat for me and I count this as my cheat meal. Todays service was excellent and it’s always nice to see a familiar face when I go there.
